Spring

This poem written by Mike Rose, conjures up all the beautiful images which we associate with springtime …

Spring

Spring is here the snowdrops have been and gone
Now the daffodils take their place pretty every one,
The crocus they do bloom in tubs and beds
They show us the colours of their lovely heads

The clocks have changed the days grow long
Soon we’ll have the birds to sing their sweet song,
They wing their way from places afar
They fly from Africa over the Sahara

Across the Mediterranean they do fly
To be with us by and by,
The Cuckoo with their quaint song
Herald that the days get long

The hedges they burst with green
That’s a lovely sight to be seen,
With blossoms bursting forth as well
These do make our hearts to swell

Lambs in fields their joy to bring
To herald in that this is spring,
Spring is such a lovely time
But I am running out of rhyme
