There, you’ll find everything from unusual plants on Isles of Scilly to unexpected delights in Chelsea Physic Garden in London. The Independent has also put together a list of its 10 best garden visits, handy if you’re struggling to choose which garden might suit you best. It’s designed especially to offer a reference for anyone who’s hoping to find gardens to visit throughout the UK and it also has some nice extras, such as lists of which gardens are most beautiful during which seasons.

Tours for discovering the best of England’s gardens
