American entertainer, singer and actress Cher is one of the most successful female musicians of a generation.

She first rose to fame in the 60s when she starred alongside her then-husband Sonny Bono.

From there, she went on to have a successful career as a solo artist and actress, winning a Grammy, Academy Award, an Emmy and three Golden Globes.

Five decades later she shows no sign of slowing down – she’s currently performing in residence at Las Vegas.

This weekend marks her 71st birthday, so to celebrate we’re looking back on some of her best songs so far. Are any of your favourites on our list?
