Step back in time: to 1975

Take a trip down memory lane with a nostalgic look back at 1975. Welcome back to the heart of the Seventies; Britain was in the midst of a double-dip recession and tension, innovation and change were present everywhere.

The 70s are marked by new opportunities for men and women and an emphasis on freedom, equality and individuality – from the rise of feminism to punk rock, in 1975 Britain was moving in a new direction and many aspects of modern life as we know it now were still new and radical in their time.

So grab a cuppa and step back in time with us to 1975…

I was 21 that year. And it was an amazing time to be young. Loved the music and yes, even the fashions! I was at Teacher Training College and the world was my oyster.

Thanks for a wonderful reminder - Happy New Year to you all 🙂

Yes, It all came flooding back to me! Hadnt realised that I was that much older than those celeb's born that year! I was 18 in '75, actually didnt think I'd ever get past 25, thought I'd burn out by then, as life was so much fun and I felt invincible! Telling my young uns yesterday, that I'll be 60 in 13months time and they were gobsmacked! Like everyone my age, we've lost lots of friends and relatives on the way, have experienced happy and very sad times, upset others and have been upset ourselves, but have lived to fight another day, so here's to the next 20!
Merry Christmas and a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to you all!!

As a teenager in the seventies this brings back good memories! I remember a very carefree time, lots of great music - I loved Slade, disco and American soul. I still recall many songs word for word when I hear them now. I danced my way through this decade!
