Make your own Bake Off-inspired Showstopper
The new series of the Great British Bake Off is in full swing – inspiring many home chefs to pull out their recipe books and get baking.
If you’re ready to pull off your own showstopper, we’ve put together a handful of recipes that taste as good as they look.
Strawberry Chiffon Cake (pictured above)
Vibrant, pink and moreish, this strawberry chiffon cake is sure to wow the judges. The whisked sponge cake is made with pureed strawberries and vegetable oil rather than butter, creating a base that’s light yet big on flavour.
Chocolate & Raspberry Tart
This delicious chocolate & raspberry tart is the perfect recipe to impress family and friends – it’s simple to make and richly satisfying in taste. Try the recipe as is or swap out the raspberry for your own substitutions; hazelnut, sea salt and strawberries are just a few other ingredients that pair well with chocolate.
Hazelnut Meringue Layer Cake
This Hazelnut Meringue Layer Cake with strawberries and raspberries is a perfect dessert for special occasions – the layers of meringue with the fruit in between look very pretty and it’s super easy to make ahead and assemble last minute.
Naked berry celebration cake
Try this delicious naked berry cake as an alternative for your next celebration. This cake is perfect for a large festive family gathering or a New Year’s Eve soiree; the tiered layers make for an incredible showstopper and with minimal icing, it’s a light but delicious treat.
Will you give any a try?
