Will you vote in person or by post?

There are many ways to vote that reduce barriers and allow all those eligible to vote; proxy voting, postal voting, braille ballot papers, and accessible polling stations; but you have to be registered to vote.

Voting by post is an easy and convenient way of voting if you are unable to get to the polling station.

Anyone wishing to have their say in the general or local election by post – rather than in person on the day – can request to do so through their local council or www.gov.uk. and the deadline for your application in 5pm on  Tuesday, 21st April 2015.

How will you physically vote in this General Election?  Do you enjoy the buzz of the Polling Station?  Do you already have a registered postal vote? Do you think in future General Elections voting online should be an option?

Will you vote in person or by post?

323 people have already voted, what's your opinion? IN PERSON BY POST

Postal votes or not - polling stations should be accessible to all.
Wheelchair user currently suing a council for lack of access during previous election. Hope he is successful - council should be ashamed of themselves.

It's 2015 and us silversurfers should surely be able to vote online.

It's the only way we'll get the number that vote up - especially with the younger voters who can't seem to get organised to register and find their local polling station!! If they could do it from their smartphones then they might just be bothered.

I still don't know who I will vote for but I will vote. I think doing it in person shows some commitment, as someone else said below, if something is worthwhile you need to make an effort. I will also vote because of the women of a century ago who fought so long and hard to get us the vote - we owe it to them to vote. I agree that for someone less mobile then postal voting is the best alternative, at present. I have reservations about on-line voting - I think effective security of such a system needs to be in place first, to ensure that some unscrupulous people do not vote more than once, or in place of someone else, or as a fictitious person.

our polling station is in a very old primary school built in a time where accessibility was not catered for in any way. In recent times a ramp -a long and fairly steep ramp - has been added which makes entry into the school easier but then there is an obstacle course of doors to conquer for anyone in a wheelchair Postal voting for us because we dont really have any choice

Our local polling station is in the village hall so its easy to wonder up there. I have to say in this day and age it should be done online. Much easier once the IT is sorted out and people can do it from easily. My kids don't live at home yet all their voting papers come here? they move all overt the place so its difficult for them. What happens if people are old or infirm they cannot even post their vote. Come on UK government get your act together and put it online!!!
