Meet Foxy … our Silverhairs fitness guru

Introducing Pat Fox…..

Pat is an exercise physiologist and exercise specialist.

After graduating from Otago University in sport and exercise science he completed his MSc in exercise physiology at Brunel University. He has worked in professional sport for over 17 years beginning his career at The New Zealand Institute of Sport, working with various high performance teams such as The All Blacks, around the World yachting squads, and national and international rugby, hockey, cricket and basketball squads; as well as many individual athletes.

He set up a group of health and wellbeing clubs after moving to the UK and then worked with Wasps, Saracens and England rugby teams as well as advising organisations in football, equestrian, fencing, and the health and wellbeing industry. Moving into academia he worked within the Human Performance Centre at London South Bank University providing exercise, health and wellbeing science performance and technology advise. He is an author, served on several health and wellbeing steering groups and has published academically.

Pat has worked with a wide range of groups from young developing sportspeople, older age groups and those with specific needs such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, musculo-skeletal injury, high blood pressure, arthritis, obesity and those new to exercise.

Pat is our new fitness guru, and over the next few months he is going to share his experience and point us in the right direction when it comes to fitness and exercise.
