Five reasons to join The British Racing Club

The British Racing Club prides itself on being a fun and friendly racing club with a more intimate feel to it than other clubs.

Members are involved with all of the Clubs horses and have the opportunity to visit them on the monthly stable visits and support them at the races; there is nothing quite like the thrill of cheering your own horse to victory! Here is the British Racing Club owner Rupert Fowler to tell you more:

Interested in joining?  Consider these benefits:

The Club has both National Hunt and Flat horses all around Britain and our members enjoy the ownership experience with every Club horse. Currently we have 5 Flat horses and 6 National Hunt horses in training with the following Trainers: Philip Hobbs, Oliver Sherwood, Harry Whittington, Lucinda Russell, Anthony Honeyball, Tom Dascombe, Ruth Carr, Harry Dunlop and Jonathan Portman – with more trainers and horses on the horizon.

Club members can enjoy the Owners privileges at the races when we have a Club horse running. There are 59 racecourses in Britain and so far the BRC has raced at 53 of them!

Every time a Club horse runs we have a ticket ballot for free Owner’s badges which includes free admission into the racecourse and entry into the parade ring and hopefully the winner’s enclosure! Also included is a race card and some sort of food voucher usually available in the Owners and Trainers restaurant/bar. And of course, as an Owner you will meet the Trainer, or their representative, and Jockey before and after the race. The Club is also a great way to meet like minded individuals and make new friends as there are many opportunities to go racing, for instance we raced 12 times in August! Upon joining members will receive an enamel racing badge in the Club’s racing colours to wear at the races.

There are regular Stable Visits to the Club’s Trainers to meet the Trainer, staff and of course the Club horses. These visits will usually involve a tour of the yard, watching the Club horse and/or other horses from the yard on the gallops or doing a piece of work and refreshments while listening to an introduction and update from the Trainer. There is also the opportunity to meet the other horses in the yard. All members are welcome and in fact encouraged to come as they really are such fun and fascinating days. They give you a truly special look behind the scenes and allow you to meet some of the superstars of the racing world! These Stable Visits are completely free of charge and members are also welcome to bring a guest.

Our Resident Tipster will provide racing tips every day and our four professional Sports Journalists write insightful racing news and articles daily and occasional special features with betting advice exclusively published on the member’s website.

On each race day before the race starts we conduct exclusive racetrack interviews with our Trainer and Jockey in the Parade Ring for our members’ website. This allows our members to watch the race with an insiders understanding of the opposition and the chances and the tactics we will employ. After the race, we send out a post-race interview conveying the emotions of the result – the joy of winning, the frustration of not winning – from both the Jockey and the Trainer.

A 12 month membership is £249 for Silversurfers (reduced from £300!). Members will not be liable for any additional requests for payment in relation to the keeping and training of the racehorses, regardless what costs the Club may incur. Membership of the Club can be either purchased for yourself or it could be the perfect gift for a racing fan!
