Your LAST EVER CHANCE to buy Iconic Inspired Furniture in the UK
A new Europe wide law is about to come into force in the UK extending the copyright protection for original iconic furniture designs from 25 to 70 years.
Originally, the change in UK law was to be implemented in 2020. Unfortunately, the government bowed to legal pressure from official makers of iconic designs earlier this year and brought forward the change in law to January 31st 2017, after which it will be illegal to sell or buy any form of iconic replica.
“British shoppers will no longer be able to buy cheap designer furniture thanks to new law making it a CRIMINAL offence” THE DAILY MAIL
The days of Brits buying cheap designer furniture will end this year. Versions of the Eames Lounger that are currently available for less than £500, will be banned, meaning people would have to pay £5,000 for an original. Businesses that sell replica furniture could become liable to a potential fine of up to £50,000, and a custodial sentence of up to 10 years.
Even design experts claim the original designs were meant to be enjoyed by the masses and not just the privileged few who can afford to pay a premium.
“The essential, defining proposition of modern design is – or rather, was – that an idea can be limitlessly reproduced at low cost.” Stephen Bayley (DESIGN CRITIC)
What this means for the average UK consumer is that there is just a short time in which to purchase a beautifully made, hand crafted iconic replica before being forced to pay up to 10 TIMES more for an official version next year. Not only that, existing stocks of iconic replicas are going to be rapidly depleted as companies like Wallace Sacks are forced to stop making more.
If you’ve always wanted to own one of these design classics then now really is your last chance to invest in the best. The Wallace sacks Collection of 18 iconic inspired armchairs and sofas are all beautifully handmade and come with a unique lifetime guarantee.
In order to clear our stocks we’re now reducing our remaining stock by up to 75%. Grab a bargain while you can.
Our Eames inspired Lounger and Ottoman is available online now for £499 reduced from £1,995.
Visit The Wallace Sacks website at wallacesacks.com or give them a call on 020 8808 3275 to place your order.
