From the Hearts of Oh So Many

This small but heartfelt tribute to the heroes of the Battle Of Britain was written by Teresa Harrison-Best

From the Hearts of Oh So Many

From the hearts of ‘oh so many’
we wish to thank ‘The Few’
Those men who were so gallant,
the ones we never knew.

Overhead the skies are quiet now,
no dogfights or attack.
Back then it was survival
in times that seemed so black.

Those young men lost in combat,
courageous to the end.
They should never be forgotten,
to their memory we commend.

For we now have a freedom
to cherish and behold.
But we also have a duty
for their story to be told.

So do not let their memory
just ebb away with years.
Remember what they gave to us
lest that memory disappears.
