My Friend

A curious poem written by Mike Rose …

My Friend

There you are stood by the TV
Showing off your curves for the entire world to see
Sometimes we get to go out together
Maybe we will be together forever

We also travel together in the car
Sometimes it’s near, other times maybe far
Your curvy lines are so neat
Where now was it that we did meet

I’m sure we met on the internet
You didn’t expect to be with me I bet
In the Waller’s Barn we can play
You and me in our own unique way

My fingers on your long slim neck
With everybody looking, but what the heck
My arm is often around your middle
With you it is easy for me to fiddle

I take you to a lot of different places
Looking out at all those different faces
They don’t seem to mind if I hold you tight
Even if I am trying to hide my fright

I hold you at night and in the morning
Then we are out of tune with no warning
But I am happy with you by far
After all you are just my guitar
