Many of the world’s leading car manufacturers have been criticised by motorists who find their cars uncomfortable, particularly when it comes to seats.

Volkswagen, Nissan, Toyota and Hyundai models were named as having some of the most uncomfortable cars. The most comfortable seats were found in Lexus models, Volvo, Jeep and the MG3 Mk1. The survey was carried out by the magazine Drivers Power and 61,000 motorists took part in the research. The motorists were also asked to rate the cars on factors including technology, ease of driving, and reliability. The leading car was the Lexus IS Mk3 with a rating of 93% followed by the Skoda Yeti MK1 and the Hyundai i10 Mk2.

The over 50s buy more than 80% of new cars in the UK. Which are your favourite car brands in the following categories?

I have a Skoda Fabia and find the seats incredibly comfortable.
A point l'd like to bring forward is why are there no female car sales people, the same as estate agents they are virtually non-existant. It's 2016 !!

I suffer from severe arthritis and am awaiting a new hip. Although happy with our Vauxhall Astra the seats (I have been told) are not really suitable for my needs & I am looking for a more upright seat. The knees should be lower than the bottom. Can anyone help please.

I currently have a Peugeot 107 as a courtesy car while my Ford Fiesta Zetec is repaired. The seat and suspension seem extremely comfortable, but the make is not in your list. Is there a reason for this?

Hello Sybil ... there was no reason why Peugot was left off the list ... we are open to your suggestions, so thank you for your feedback 🙂

I look for reliability above anything else. With cars I think it's worth paying a little extra - for me you can't beat German built cars, Audi are always top of my list

I have an old Jeep at the moment which is a great car to transport rubbish to the tip. The best car I ever had was an Audi some years ago which was an automatic and very fast.

I have had about 6 minis over the years starting with one that cost £25...yes £25! in Cornwall in the summer of 1979. It was a total heap but was a brilliant little car and did'nt break down once in the 6 months that I had it there. Still drive a mini today and find them great looking, cheap to run and a fantastic drive especially when parking
