He was due to go on holidays next month but it has to be cancelled due to lock down.
I work as a Nurse in a hospital and caught the virus nursing Covid patients. I am so thankful the patients, my colleagues and myself got over it. the I would gladly both nominate both of us it our dream to visit Canada!!!
My baby was born 5 weeks early and surprised us with an extra chromosome (Down Syndrome), she was quite unwell and Louise did everything she could to keep me positive, she looked after my baby girl when I couldnt be there. She went out of her way to help in anyway she could. My little girl is now 7 months old and is perfect. still a few underlying issues but Louise still keeps in touch. She has been working in ICU with Covid patients and she deserves something so special for everything she has done xx
Thank you
Nenne
She was the only one working in her family at one point and did feel the strain and has been very anxious.
She is 74 years old and still working full time for the NHS. She works day and nights shifts in the pathology laboratory of our busy local hospital. During the Covid-19 crisis she has worked additional hours over and above her full time role to cover for colleagues who are self isolating or unwell, despite herself falling into the at risk group. She has been testing bloods on patients with Covid-19 which has created additional challenges in order to stay safe.
She has worked for the NHS for an amazing 56 years and shows no signs of stopping! A true NHS hero.
She has been in direct contact with ladies in labour who have tested positive for Covid-19
She is part of the most amazing team present in all nhs hospitals providing the essential and never mentioned vital support and advice that has been pivotal to supporting the frontline staff through this pandemic .
She had worked for the nhs for 33 years and truly deserves this holiday. . .
These are their friend’s names -
My sister in law Trish Venkamah she works in two hospitals LND and Bedford
Nicola Rowe, Michelle Homsey, Kelly Dormer xxxx
Melanie Felgate, works in a doctor’s surgery.
Elaine Russ & Rob Russ, GP and surgery nurse
Hana Churms, nurse at Lister hospital in Stevenage.
It seems that the NHS touches all our lives, long live our NHS
She has given unstinting care and dedication to her patients over these 50 years and is popular with her patients.
Rehabilitation ward in our small local hospital but during the Pandemic she has worked tirelessly for her patients.
Now, that would be something so special for them.
And the feelgood factor for us would shoot off the scale!
Semi retired but returned to work after the Covid19 outbreak.
She gives her all.
Well done, all NHS staff
Well done
Sue is one of the most warm-hearted and generous people I know.
I'd nominate all NHS staff if I could, and their parents, spouses, children etc., who are constantly concerned for them.
began looking after patients who were suspected of having the virus in the makeshift ward at Warrington Hospital. I think he deserves this holiday for his dedication to duty.
Thank you
after such incredible unselfish work.
She has been on the front line as silver command for Covid working 12 hour shifts and weekends. Like every mum she’s also been schooling her two sons and running her home. She so deserves this.x
I would hope they can nominate a deserving family.
If her honeymoon does go ahead, perhaps she could share this holiday with me as I have just retired after 50 years nursing.
On arriving home, no matter how exhausted she was, the first thing she had to do every day was to strip off and throw all her clothes into the washing machine.
No matter what Nicole does she always does it wholeheartedly, and with boundless enthusiasm.
My wife and I have given her what little we could afford by way of thanks for her efforts, a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates, but If she could win this trip it would be magnificent thanks for her efforts.
He is my NHS hero
I am not a nurse, or doctor or anyone that has been clinically trained. However, I find myself having to go in and clean affected rooms etc.
I wear masks, gowns and gloves each day and clean the wards.
I work in a mental hospital, so cannot keep to social distancing with the patients.
I have never taken a day of sick in over a year and I can work 20 or more days without a day off.
However, the reason I am asking if I can nominate myself is that, my sister lives in Canada and I would like to go over an give her a much needed big hug.
Our father has just passed away and because of the covid19, she could not come over to my fathers funeral, this broke her heart and I would like to hug her.
Stay safe everyone x x
They aren’t alone I know but they are my friends and would like to give them an opportunity of a holiday
Associate Practitioner at District Nursing
At Epsom and St Helier University.
It's been a very trying time but with the way people help each other i am thankful that there are so many thankless people who have really kept so many save and well during the coronavirus.
Your outlook changes on what you really need or want.
I want to see the world before I can not travel anymore.
Her selfish acts make her a great example of the traditions of Nursing.
Whilst doing all that she contracted COVID-19 and helped protect me as I am potentially at greater risk due to my ailments.
Kind regards,
Chris Payne (Mr)
My mother in law, second mum, I’m one of her biggest fans!
44 years a nurse and still going strong,
A big heart, listening ear, it’s where she belongs.
This would be a great rest which is truly deserved,
Always under pressure she a pro at holding her nerve.
We love her and appreciate everything she faces,
Canada is on her bucket list, one of the many places.
Thank you to all the hardworking NHS staff,
Because of you all we’re able to live, love and laugh
He still went in to work to release cells which during his PhD aided heart tissue when damaged.
These were taken by Courier to Bristol Infirmary to be given to a 2 month old baby who was born with heart problems.
These cells are temperature sensitive and he stayed in work until he knew that they had arrived and remained at the correct temperature range so the process could go ahead.
He was in pain that day but he still put his job before himself.
Despite having a 2 year old daughter and a fiance who has Crohn's (so is extremely vunerable) she has continued to go to work on the front line. Working mainly on the Respiratory Ward with Covid patients.
Anna and my Son, Mitch, are due to get married this September, so as yet we're unsure whether the wedding will be going ahead. But we know that due to lack of funds they haven't managed to arrange a honeymoon. So a trip to Canada would be absolutely wonderful for them. I'm sure by June next year Anna will be in need of some rest and relaxation after putting her life at risk to care for all of us.
Thank you
She is incredibly hard-working, resilient and upbeat which helps to keep the community on their feet during this tough time!
She really deserves something like this - thank you for your consideration!
Last month I celebrated 35 years unbroken, continuous service to our NHS. Currently I am working full time in the community as a paediatric nurse - supporting vulnerable children and their carers. I often end up working late, frequently I cover my colleagues shifts if they are unwell and I am always on call.
I am also mother to our four wonderful, clever and creative children, (all home from school, college and university) and a registered carer for my 97 year old uncle, who without our love and support - would not be able to live independently in his own home.
This year my husband and I celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary - all our plans are on hold - but 30 years ago when we got married we had our honeymoon in Canada. At that time I had an alternative nursing placement arranged at The Sick Children’s Hospital in Toronto - and I would work my shift and then we’d sightsee together. Unfortunately, due to finances - we were unable to extend our break and quickly headed home when I had completed my allocated time.
To have the opportunity to return would be a dream come true!
Thank you.
I myself work in AnE as a clinical assessor in a team called REACT (rapid emergency assessment and coordination team), we both work 12 hour shits so we don’t get many days off together.
We got engaged a week before lockdown in Edinburgh, so a trip away after this is all over would be amazing and so greatly appreciated!
Thank you for this generous idea 🙂
She has remained as a nurse throughout and at moment working with co vid patients..a true angel..
If anyone deserves this she does
..thank you
They have been working incredibly hard during these tough times and really deserve something to lift their spirits and it will give them something to look forward to.
I am so incredibly proud of them for always being so brave, kind and considerate every single day.

Nicola (Nicki) works incredibly hard and does long hours utilising her skills as a NHS worker with nigh on 30 years nursing experience.
She is full-time Commissioning Manager for the project team that is, currently, constructing the two new hospitals in my area. As well as this role, she also works as a Nurse Manager. As soon as Nicki does her full day's work on the construction project, she changes into her nurse's uniform and goes straight to the wards/control room to do a shift. This happens most days. She was doing this long before the Covid-19 virus hit and is continuing to do so.
Despite the long hours, she always came into work in the project office, next day, with a bright & positive disposition. Her laughter never fails to lift your spirits. I call her our office sunshine girl. She cares very much about her patients, her staff and her colleagues. Nothing is too much trouble for her.
Fellow staff and patients alike admire his dedication and professionalism at any time, but especially in our current climate of NHS emergency.
"Just getting on with it".
Thank you to VIVID and Silver Surfers for organising this prize draw
