Would you feel comfortable going cashless?I am old fashioned. I like cash and people like being paid in cash - I always offer. I feel concern for those unable to budget effectively without having their weekly allowance visible to them. However bad you were at "sums" you know when you've only got a couple of quid left in your pocket!ViewDate:

Cornwall- Anyone from my neck of the woods? - [DELETED_MEMBER]Hi I am also a Cornish girl. Still working & tend to go further afield on holidays at present so not the person you are looking for. Do you belong to your local U3A? My mother is a member & they seem to have lots of sub-groups doing interesting trips. She regularly attends a Sunday Lunch & "amblers" walking group. Good Luck JudyViewDate:

Wildlife of the PantanalI spent 3 months in the Pantanal in 2018, working as a volunteer in an eco-lodge and on a farm (fazenda). It is a fabulous place to visit for bird & wildlife spotting, I have over 900 photos & I will be returning in 2020!ViewDate:

New to the forumHi Catlady Try volunteering it's cheap & rewarding. I just spent 16 fabulous weeks working in Brazil in a tourist lodge & on a farm. It was great fun and met loads of interesting people. I paid for flight & transfers & got free board & lodging (not 5*) The web is great for finding placements start with "Charity Job" which has actual jobs and volunteer requirements. I used Volunteer Latin America which has a small joining fee also look at Workaway and Working on Organic Farms (WOOF) both of which are worldwide. Put your big girl pants on & go for it! Nights out in the early SeventiesLucky you - I still live in Cornwall we had weekly discos & a few live bands in the village hall! I think Elvis Costello played at Davidstow once but I wasn't there! Our youth club went to Plymouth a couple of times to see Mud & Bay City Rollers those were the days rolled up jeans & tartan hahaViewDate:

Which song would you pick that most describes you and your life?Slight tangent on the theme. has anyone picked their funeral songs? Jake Bugg is a great talent I will be coming in to - In the event of my demise & assuming it has to be cremation going out to- I can burn alone. Told my daughter she agrees perfect for my sense of humour - warped!ViewDate:

Would you find it easy to reduce your consumption of meat?I find these studies ridiculous. There are significant environments in the world where grazing is the only viable farming option. Taking cattle out of some ecosystems could have disastrous consequences which could not easily be reversed. If the concerns are deforestation & chemicals on what basis do they conclude that this will improve with increased arable farming? Our ancestors were hunter gatherers and meat was essential in winter months we need to continue to live in tune with nature. Yes I am a farmers daughter all farmers are environmentalists it is part of the job. I have just retuned from the pantanal wetlands of brazil where I worked on a cattle ranch. The system is extensive protecting the wonderful ecosystem & they eat beef 2/3 meals per day. They are certainly not wealthy it is subsistence farming and part of the local culture. The cowboys were my age & had the physique of men half their age so the diet has not caused them harm either. JudyViewDate:
