Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?ok so lots of you are moaning about isolating ,well i for one am quiet happy for those people to go out as often as they like, and break the rules for trying to protect the elderly ,but with condition from the goverment,,THAT YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO AN INTENSIVE CARE BED SHOULD YOU GET THE VIRUS , seems fair to meViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?the spreading of the virus cannot be stopped, washing hands can help slow the spread but it cannot be stopped , and the older people are the most vunerable , isolation is the only way to slow the spread and for that reason the most vunerable first, this will leave emergency beds for the very sick until more become availableViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?if they catch it they can infect many people, you can be a healthy 70yr old and still catch it and still take up a hospital bed in intensive care you may not die but still hospitalised for several weeks, its about pulling together to help everyone and not being selfishViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?you cannot choose if you want to risk getting infected or not, it's not about you and other selfish people , it's about us keeping hospital beds free and not catching a deadly virus that is deadly to older people, so no you should not have the choiceViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?we have been targeted because we are at the most risk of dying from the virus, few of us would survive , for goodness sake it attacks the lungs and the elderly are at the most riskViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?would you rather go out and risk passing the virus on to them then, because that is what would happen one after another stretching our hospitals to breaking point, this is not about being selfish and wanting life to go on the same , it can;t we have a killer virus that spreads rapidly kills the elderly and no cure, i live isolated in the countryside not my choice and can be days before i see anyone to talk to , we have to get on with it , lives will not be the same and can;t be accept itViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?sorry but people have relatives dying , and health worries themselves ,if you both become ill the grandchildren won't be with you anyway, , its not about individuals problems with babysitting , its about saving lives, if you have the virus and go out you could pass it on, don;t you have a garden to walk round , you will find yourself in deep trouble if the rules are broken don;t be one of the stupid onesViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?well i got mine same as usual, if there are no slots click and collect and get a family member or friend to pick them up, there is always a way but it may well be a little more difficult, come on , people are burying there dead for goodness sake get a grip we should be showing the youngsters how to cope when times get tough , not saying we cant cope because there are no delivery slots. write letters , learn to play an instrument,,, grow flowers if you have a greenhouse , sing to the radio ,,LIVEViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?total isolation for four months is nothing if you want to live, i am 73 and while i am isolated i will be very grateful to everyone who is looking after the sick and all the emergency services. it is never total isolation anyway you can phone friends and family, talk to them on messenger , we have TV's radio , mobile phones, groceries can be delivered a little hardship never hurt anyoneViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?simple, my husband and i choose to live , we have a roof over our heads , food be it rationed, and a warm bed ,many do not, stop making a fuss and get on with saving your life while health workers and the emergency services try to save others. We have made plans as far as we can with the medical problems we have No1 spring clean the house from top to bottom. No2 do and decorating that we can manage No3 the bettter weather should be here by the time we reach No3 so we move into the garden cutting grass, weeding , planting, if we are released after four months i should have lost weight and look good my hubby too so bonus all round i say, stay positive folks xx
