Brexit - what happens next?Well what a mess we are in. After all the lies from the brexiteers and project fear from the remainers - unsurprisingly nothing that was promised by either side during the referendum campaign can actually be delivered. Thanks Mr Cameron for agreeing to a ludicrous In/Out referendum in the first place. I hope Mrs May's deal is passed and we can leave and move on with some semblance of common sense. However petty infighting from the tories and the absence of any sensible alternatives from the inept opposition means we are in a Brexit stalemate and heading for a no deal carnage Brexit. The EU are unlikely to renegotiate, a general election will solve nothing and a referendum will split the country even further - it's time for the politicians to look after the best interests of all of us and just vote the deal through so we can move on. It's not perfect but it's vastly better than the horrifically destructive alternatives.ViewDate:

Will you be spending on Black Friday?Already got some good deals but you have to be careful as always as often the prices come down further after Christmas.ViewDate:

Will you be watching I'm a Celebrity this year? This programme is stretching the definition of celebrity. This is more cheap, lowest common denominator TV designed to attract the masses so advertisers can sell more tat in the run up to Christmas. Lots of better stuff to watch (without the ads).ViewDate:

Would you support a delay to the final EU departure?Despite all the lies and promises from Farage, Gove and the clown Boris .... Brexit was never likely to be clean so if we have to extend our departure to make a deal then that might just be a price worth paying!ViewDate:

Can social media have a negative impact on young people's mental health? As with all things there are some youngsters that are negatively affected by social media and others that have mastered it's use for the good of their wellbeing and social lives. The problem is that it is so difficult to break away from. All the social networks are designed to be addictive and so those with addictive tendencies will become hooked, potentially with negative mental health impacts. I noticed that the recent update to Apple's operating systems have introduced a monitoring system the shows how many hours you are burning on mobiles and social media. This might be a wake up call to those that have been sucked in to constant screen staring!ViewDate:

Should all pensioners over 75 be entitled to a free TV licence?I think that a free licence should ONLY be available to those that need it. There are many of us who can easily afford to pay and so there should be some sort of means testing to determine those who need it. The BBC is a national treasure to be cherished and those that can afford to pay should do so. We pay for Sky, Netflix etc so should be doing the same to keep the BBC going.ViewDate:

Do you think Heinz should change the name of their Salad Cream? This is just a clever PR stunt to generate some interest, discussion and 'online outrage' in a failing brand. I used to like it - especially in an egg sandwich but tried it recently and thought it was disgusting vinegary gloop! I'll be sticking to the Mayo!ViewDate:

Do Millennials deserve £10K for doing nothing? While I do help and will continue to help my children when I can at least my handouts to them are closely monitored by me so that they can only be spent on something worthwhile like a deposit for a house or education. Who would monitor these £10k handouts to the massed ranks of self obsessed, free spending millennials?? I imagine the craft gin, speciality coffee, smashed avocado establishments and Apple stores would be rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect of such a windfall!! All paid for by us. This mad idea would do nothing to rebalance the wealth between generations. I wouldn't have trusted myself with that amount of money at that age .... and nothing much has changed!ViewDate:

Are you offended by the Greggs Christmas Advert? It doesn't offend me (its quite amusing really) but it's just another example of the true meaning of Christmas being stretched to flog stuff we don't really need! Every brand and store is doing it but just not as in your face as Greggs!!ViewDate:

Should Theresa May stay or go?I think the right replacement is Ruth Davidson - she's charismatic and hugely capable but is not yet an MP. Stick with the Maybot through Brexit and then get Davidson in position for the next election .... she'd slaughter Jezza!!ViewDate:

Is communicating via Social Media an acceptable format for world leaders?Clearly politicians need to embrace social media but I do worry that the people who only get their politics and news from twitter in short form are never going to grasp the complexities of some of the challenging issues that we face. This was a major issue during the EU referendum where a hugely complicated range of issues was diluted into simple twitter soundbites (often inaccurate) such as the £350 million a day falsely promised for the NHS. Jeremy Corbyn was very effective in bribing the students to vote for him, battering them via social media with his promises to pay off student debts but the worry is that people only get news from the people that they 'Like' online and will never get a balanced view as these channels are totally unregulated and more likely to promote 'fake news' than traditional media. .ViewDate:

Has Theresa May's power evaporated? At last the young people of this country have woken up and engaged - well done to them - although the outcome this time is potential carnage! Social media is a game changer globally and he old powers that be will have to wake up to the new reality. The right wing press can no longer dictate the outcome of an election - it's twitter and Facebook that really count. Theresa May ran a shocker of a campaign and will not last for long - although we now need a steady hand to steer us through the next few months. Maybe Brexit is now a dead duck???? Is it time to think again? - as clearly the younger generation don't want it.ViewDate:

Is now the right time to hold a snap General Election?John - surely a silent politician can't be a good politician! How can Corbyn be classified as effective if he is trailing the Conservatives by 20 points in the most recent polls!!! (YouGov yesterday - Labour 23% Conservatives 44%) Corbyn's a nice bloke with worthy ideas but a useless politician.ViewDate:

Is now the right time to hold a snap General Election?Definitely the right time to hold an election pre-Brexit negotiations. Time to get behind the government and deliver the best possible outcome for the country from Brexit. Also time to wave good bye to Jeremy Corbyn and his useless cronies so that hopefully we can have an effective opposition again.ViewDate:

Do you think Scotland should hold a second referendum? At the last referendum the SNP said the vote was once in a generation - they didn't get what they wanted and their popularity is on the wane so here we go again!! Last time around they had a poor financial case and since the oil price has plummeted it's even worse! Plus there is no guarantee that they would be accepted into the EU as an independent nation. If they want another referendum that's fine but it seems like a waste of time and money as the results is unlikely to be any different.ViewDate:

Should companies offer 'Pawternity' leave?Ridiculous idea - if you need time off use your holiday allowance. Small businesses have a hard enough time keeping up with the red tape and new regulations without this as well!!ViewDate:

Do you currently own a diesel car?I'm amazed that 91% of us are using diesels (myself included) It is extraordinary and a scandal that we have all been so badly informed by the powers that be and have been actively encouraged to use diesel cars for many years supposedly because of lower emissions as well as overall running costs. Now they have changed their mind and want us to change then they need to provide decent financial incentives to switch.ViewDate:

Should Donald Trump be prevented from making a State Visit to the UK?However odious Trump is he is the president of the US one of our key allies and should be allowed to visit. I thought Theresa May struck a good balance in her visit last week and we should continue to develop the relationship with him. He is fast losing friends around the world and the UK will benefit and be able to influence him positively if we continue to develop a working relationship but on our own terms.ViewDate:

Should Parliament have the final say on Brexit? The government was ill advised and should never have appealed the decision - total waste of time and taxpayers money. It won't affect the outcome as we will still trigger article 50 by the end of March. Thankfully at least the SNP won't be able to block it as the devolved parliaments don't have to be consulted.ViewDate:

Are you surprised that Donald Trump won?No I am not at all surprised after the Brexit vote. This is a modern revolution driven by older, traditional, white voters that have had enough of 'the system'. It's been easy for Trump to stoke up his supporters with simple hate messages, ridiculous claims about banning Muslims, building the Mexican wall etc. Now we'll see whether he can deliver on any of it ..... frankly and thankfully I doubt it!ViewDate:

Where do you think the extra runway should be built - Heathrow or Gatwick? It shouldn't be one or the other but both. We need to expand both of these airports and rapidly to keep us as Europe's key transport hub ... especially with the joys of Brexit just round the corner we should get on with it now. I know that many people will be forced to move but they will be getting 25% above market value for their houses so it's not all bad!ViewDate:

Are you tempted to plan a digital detox?I have had a few weeks off when I was up a mountain in Nepal trekking and it was very refreshing however I'm not sure how realistic it is to switch off back at home when everything we do is internet related. I did suggest to the family that we try a 24 hour period off when we were on holiday recently but was shot down in flames!!ViewDate:

Should Jeremy Corbyn Stay or Go?This country needs a strong opposition party (especially in these testing times) and comrade Corbyn is clearly incapable of leading one. No other leader would try to hang on in the face of such disapproval from his own party. Time to end the limpet impression and disappear back his past life of quiet protest and anonymity. He has been a total shambles and a disaster for the labour party and the country.ViewDate:

Do you renew your insurance policies on a comparison website or via a broker?I use the comparison sites but think you have to be very careful when you do as finding a direct comparison is difficult. To get the cheapest price at the top of the list they cut out key elements of the policy. On balance I think a phone call to someone that you can trust is the best route.ViewDate:

Do you buy a daily newspaper or do you read the news online?I subscribe to The Times and do still prefer reading the paper version but increasingly find myself using the website version and the iPad version (very useful when travelling) and also the mobile version. I also read the BBC and Guardian online to get some political balance! Its only a matter of time before the paper versions disappear and we are all left gorping at a screen for even more hours a day!ViewDate:

Is the Labour leadership election process flawed? You couldn't make this up - the election process is a total joke with conservatives and members of far left parties registering and voting for Corbyn for entirely different reasons. They cannot possibly check everyone out as they don't have the resources to do it. Ed Miliband brought in these changes and history may well show him to be the person who ultimately destroyed the Labour party as serious opposition.ViewDate:

Is it wrong to spend your kids’ inheritance?Life is for living so I say make the most of it and enjoy it to the full while it lasts. If there is anything left for the children that's great but I wouldn't let that affect what we spend our money on today!ViewDate:

Should parents be fined for taking term-time holidays? There is a big difference between taking two weeks off for a holiday in term-time and taking the odd Friday off for a long weekend away - especially when the child is not in a key period for revision or exams. Common sense from the Head teacher on each individual case is surely what is required here.ViewDate:

Are you financially stable?Anyone who was fortunate enough to be able to buy a property in the last 60 years is laughing! My parents bought their first house for under a thousand pounds and it's now worth hundreds of thousands. Those who did not manage to buy a home may well struggle - this will be an issue to for future generations with those who have grandparents and parents with property getting help to buy their first home and others who don't have help throwing money at landlords for life.ViewDate:

Would you be willing to pay more for milk?I would certainly be happy to pay a little more for British milk. No matter how efficient our farmers become they have absolutely no control over the price they sell milk at. Supermarkets cut milk prices as a loss leader to attract shoppers and our dairy farmers get hit in the pocket. If we want British dairy industry into the future then prices must go up or else dairy farms will continue to close at an alarming rate.ViewDate:
