Has 'wokeism' killed comedy? We now live in a society where you have to tip toe around to make sure you don't offend anyone or say the wrong thing. British humour is legendary and admired around the world - just look at how successful our TV comedy exports have been and still continue to be. with streaming services such as Britbox showcasing our old comedy shows and finding new audiences. I watched Fawlty Towers and Dad's Army recently and they are still hilarious although are probably viewed as highly offensive by our woke young snowflakes who are happy to crucify people anonymously on social media but throw up their hands in horror at jokes that take the slightest mickey out of anyone else on TV.ViewDate:

Should Covid vaccination be mandatory for care home workers?Yes they definitely should - my Dad had a horrific outbreak at his care home mainly because of contract staff coming and going without testing. Anyone who works in that environment should have the jab. If not they should work elsewhere.ViewDate:

Who would you like to see succeed the Queen - Prince Charles or Prince William? While you have to feel sorry for Charles who has been waiting for so long for his moment I think it is time to modernise for the sake of the country. Charles is an old fogey and will be unable to connect with a good proportion of the nation. William has a better chance of making the royals more relevant and has to lead a seriously slimmed down royal family.ViewDate:

What are you most looking forward to - a pint or a haircut?A pint of draft Guinness please - just doesn't taste the same from a can!ViewDate:

Should the Covid vaccine be mandatory for care home workers? This is a no brainer! Of course all care home staff should be vaccinated as well as all agency staff that provide back up to the full timers. Having seen the carnage of Covid first hand in my Dad's care home I would not be happy if unvaccinated staff were in contact with him.ViewDate:

Is it still ok to share Irish jokes on St Patrick's Day?The British people have always laughed at themselves and everyone else and that is the joy of our our national sense of humour. That's why our tv comedy has been the envy of the world for decades. However I do have to be very careful what type of jokes I make with my children these days for fear of being 'cancelled' from my own family!ViewDate:

Will you watch the Sussexes' Oprah interview?Poor them .... privileged spoiled narcissists struggling along in their palaces, and beachside Californian mansions. Moaning about the media intrusion and then stoking the fires further with this interview. Nobody wins here ... certainly not the Sussexes (or whatever they will be able to call themselves after this).ViewDate:

Should Mr Potato Head become gender neutral?Crazy - maybe he should self identify as a carrot!!ViewDate:

Should there be a relaxation of restrictions for the Christmas period?Yes, a small number of households should be allowed to mix for a few days over Christmas - those that still need to isolate or be extra careful can decide for themselves whether the risk is worth taking. We will be getting family together regardless of whether Boris and the gang decide we can. I'm not sure how can they stop people who choose to break the rules on Christmas day.ViewDate:

Should people be incentivised to get the Covid-19 vaccine?Maybe those that choose not to have the vaccine should be excluded from public events, concerts, football matches, restaurants, clubs and pubs. That should do the trick!ViewDate:

Daily diaries of those who are self-isolating due to CoronavirusJust taken a delivery of fresh vegetables, eggs (and wine!) from our local pub. Great to support a local business that is still trying to trade and is also helping the vulnerable in the community who can't get out to the shops.ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months? If you have an underlying health problem then it might make sense to self isolate until things have calmed down a bit but those that are generally fit and healthy and showing no symptoms should be allowed out and about as long as the suggested preventative measures are taken. Four months is a very long time to be on your own.ViewDate:

Would you consider downsizing when you retire or have you already done so?They'll be lucky to find one at a decent price Will .... they are like gold dust around here!!!ViewDate:

Would you consider downsizing when you retire or have you already done so?We've been looking to downsize as the children have left home but the availability of suitable property is very restricted. Plus the kids keep coming back! All the bungalows within walking distance to shops have been turned into massive luxury houses and the new 'retirement flats' are ridiculously expensive for the amount of space you get. The point of downsizing is to release a bit of cash to help the kids out but the maths don't always work out with stamp duty and other fees to take into account. I think we may be forced to stay put.ViewDate:

Should noisy snacks be banned from the cinema?Noisy snacks will never be banned because that's how the cinemas make their money from overpriced snacks .... almost all of them annoyingly noisy. Popcorn has the biggest mark up of any commodity and you can pay more for a box of that stuff than the price of the ticket! I favour a nice quiet cold ready mixed G&T with my cinema experience plus it helps the snooze if the film is rubbish.ViewDate:

Did Prince Andrew's Newsnight interview make his predicament better or worse? The idiot Andrew is clearly as bad at lying as he seems to be at everything else he tries his hand at. Just ask his royal protection officers where he was on the relevant dates!ViewDate:

Who will you vote for in the December General Election? The biggest worry about this election is that the dangerous idiot, puppet, Corbyn, and his communist henchmen might just sneak in through the back door!! They would do more damage to the country than either a Brexit or Remain decision. He will be promising the earth again in the campaign, bribing the kids and students and everyone else with undeliverable, uncosted schemes that would cost the country an absolute fortune and send us back to the dark ages.ViewDate:

Should 'wolf-whistling' be a crime? What a waste of police time - there are many more important things for our already stretched police resources to focus on! Isn't it rather sexist to assume that it's just women who are wolf whistled by men? I'm sure it works both ways. ;-)ViewDate:

Would you like a general election? We need one to refresh parliament but until Labour get rid of that useless embarrassment of a communist clown in charge and give us a more moderate alternative we are likely to get Boris back with an increased majority. We need a strong opposition again.ViewDate:

Was Prince Harry right to bare his soul on television?I'm not sure what they hoped to achieve in doing the interview. It won't make any difference to the way the press treat them and it just makes them look a bit sad and sorry for themselves when they have such a lovely life in their country estates, private jets and celebrity friends. Not a situation that will elicit much sympathy from the majority of the nation who struggle to make ends meet day to day. If they need help seek it privately not in front of the world who will just snipe at them more as a result.ViewDate:

Do you prefer streaming to broadcast TV?I think the range of TV available via the streaming services including Netflix, Amazon, BBC, Channel 4 and ITV is excellent. The production values in many series are better than films. Gone are the days of scrabbling around for something decent to watch. We rarely watch live TV unless it's sport or the news.ViewDate:

Should graduates still be repaying their student loans into their 60s?The whole system is shocking. Especially the exploitatively high rates of interest at over 6% on loans that will rack up until they retire. Maintenance grants for the poorest kids have been removed and we are now asking valuable doctors and nurses to pay their tuition fees as we struggle to fill vacancies in the NHS after the Brexit impact. We've got it badly wrong and are seriously letting down the younger generation.ViewDate:

Would you like to star in 'Silver Love Island'?Love Island is brainless, dangerous, exploitative, cheap rubbish TV. Two participants have committed suicide after their appearances on the show which is just an excuse to show off fit bodies to make the insta generation even more paranoid about how they look. It's as bad if not worse than Jeremy Kyle and should be banned!ViewDate:

Does the person in the middle seat on a plane have the right to use both armrests?Always stake your claim early and get your arms on the armrests in your preferred position. A polite nudge and a friendly smile sometimes helps to establish priority.ViewDate:

Will Marmite Peanut Butter be on your shopping list?Peanut butter and marmite on toast is the finest savoury snack known to man. I've been a fan since I was a small child - not sure you need it already mixed as you can easily just make your own. And smooth is better than crunchy. Give it a try - you'll wonder how you've survived this long without it!!ViewDate:

Is it too soon for Easter eggs to go on sale?We are in a continual wheel of commercial spin based on mainly commercially generated events and dates - all designed to sell us stuff we don't need and that is bad for us. Christmas has become horrifically commercial and most forget the original meaning as they stuff down the food and drink and open the presents they don't want or need. Then we move on to Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day all designed by the greetings card manufacturers to make you feel bad if you don't buy their tat. Easter is now all about flogging chocolate eggs - thanks to Cadbury's and all the other purveyors of the sweet stuff that is making our nation obese and their teeth drop out. How many think of the original meaning of Easter as they shove another lump of the brown sweet stuff into their hungry mouths? Easter now starts in January, Christmas in late August ... don't fall for it!ViewDate:

Are you ditching the drink for January?January is a miserable month anyway and if you enjoy a drink then it will become even more miserable if you ditch the drink for the whole month. Just have a few days off a week and cutting down at other times should do the trick.ViewDate:

Is obesity a lifestyle choice or a disease? There is a simple equation in play here: If you put more calories in your mouth than you burn you will put on weight. What goes in your mouth and how active you decide to be is a lifestyle choice. It's not always easy and it takes willpower - especially at our age!ViewDate:

Brexit - what happens next?Maybe it's time for us oldies to listen to our children and grandchildren. They are the future and will have to live with the results of our mess - the majority of young people want to stay in the EU. They can't remember the 'so called' good old days outside the EU which frankly weren't that good!! Maybe we should all listen to them and moderate our antiquated views and allow another referendum. For whatever reason they weren't engaged last time around - they sure will be the next time.
