"really" making new friends!Hi Lily49, only just seen your post but you're right aboiut lots of people already having friends in these groups and not being particularly welcoming to new members. I only belong to a photo walk group which is very informal, I don't even take photos, but we would love new members even if they only came for a walk round the local park. Unfortunately it's not your area but now that restrictions are being eased hope you find a group that welcomes you. I think you're so brave for going to these meetings alone in the first place, I am far too shy to walk into a room or try to meet up with strangers, and as my partner died very suddenly last year I find it is very lonely especially at weekends - I work until 10pm Mon -Fri so that keeps me occupied as I don't drive so don't get home till late with the woeful bus service provided.I'd never have the confidence you obviously have to keep trying new groups. Anyway, take care and hopefully one of these meetings will have someone who wants to be a proper friend rather than just a member going there to fill an hour or so in,ViewDate:

Finding the right senior chat room for youThanks for your message Tasmanianbadger - I am useless with tech so it's taken a few days to get back on the chat page. So sorry for your loss, it's very hard to lose someone so close. Everyone says time heals but it hasn't started yet. Take care.ViewDate:

How will you be completing your 2021 Census - on paper or online?I have worked for fRoyal Mail for over 30 years and can assure you they don't lose millions of census forms - they are handled seperately from all other mail.ViewDate:

Finding the right senior chat room for youThanks Simplythebest, I wouldn't mind those sessions, would be good to talk to someone, I am allowed 4 phone counselling sessions through work but they are only 30 minutes and not sure if I want my managers knowing what I say to the counsellors. Will look for the Hospice website - I am in the North West so not sure if they have it here but will see, thank you.ViewDate:

Finding the right senior chat room for youSo sorry to hear that Smokie6, it's the most awful thing to be going through. Just got to take one day at a time and hope things get better although it seems very far away right now.ViewDate:

Loss of a soul mateReg46, i know exactly how you feel, my partner died at the end of November very suddenly, he hadn't been ill or had any symptoms of anything, but I got up om 29th November and found him dead on the floor. He had just turned 56 in October, I am 53 later this month. We would have been together 30 years this month. I agree about it being lonely, we were not lucky enough to have children so it's just me now. Your wife sounds like a lovely woman, all we can do is cherish our memories and be grateful for the time we had - although I must admit it's hard, when we should have had another 20 or so years together.ViewDate:

Would you be happy to accept a jab after midnight?Depends on where they'd expect people to go and transport for getting there and back - I don't drive but if it is anywhere within a 30 minute walk I'd be ok with it.ViewDate:

Finding the right senior chat room for youHi everyone, just wondering if anyone knows anywhere for recently bereaved people to chat? I have tried sone sites but they tend to act as dating sites, which I don't want. My partner of 30 years died very suddenly 7 weeks ago and it is so hard without him. Sorry if this is not what the forum is about but I can't seem to find anywhere else to chat.ViewDate:

Should a gingerbread man become a gingerbread person?Totally ridiculous - can't imagine anyone is really offended by a gingerbread man, they're just jumping on the feminist bandwagon which has gone much too far.ViewDate:

Are you ditching the drink for January? You should have a N/A box for those of us who don't drink anyway - not everyone has a need to throw alcohol down their throats just because it's Christmas/a birthday/wedding/weekend or whatever the event may be.ViewDate:

Would you rather travel forward or backwards in time?I would love to go forward and see how the world turns out in 100, 1000, 50,000 years, it would be so interesting to see the changes. I really don't see the point in going back in time, it's past and gone. Forward all the way for me.ViewDate:

Will you be watching the World Cup?As much as I can, unfortunately my work hours mean I'll be stuck there when most of the matches are on - hopefully may get to watch the actual World Cup Final although it seems to be on rather early this year.ViewDate:

Your last mealI never have a starter or desert so my main meal would have been my great-aunt's cabbage and ribs if she were still with us - as she isn't it wouldn't really bother me what I ate as long as it wasn't spicy.ViewDate:
