Over 50 and tired of travelling solo? Find holiday companionsHello Cathy, First of all, my apologies for only just getting back on this site. For whatever reason I didn't receive notifications and took it that there was no interest. Then the project I was working on in the Timor Sea dragged on and delayed my arrival, which is a pity as I've missed the best of what everyone says was a cracking summer. However, I've finally made it here and decided to revisit this site. It would be nice to chat. regards Michael ps I'm in CheshireViewDate:

Over 50 and tired of travelling solo? Find holiday companionsDer große Plan... I retire in August and intend to buy a motor home in my native England. The idea is to do the eternal summer thing by spending half the year wandering the continent from May to November before returning to my Australian home for the southern summer. I'm looking for a rare individual to share an interesting road, someone with a lovely mind, an off-the-dial sense of humour, and the ability to diagnose melanoma at fifty paces. The laughs and the quality of the conversation is the whole point of this ad. Ideally I'll find someone who shares my deep inquisitiveness not just for European history but history in general, and languages, art, life, the universe, the whole enchilada -and definitely someone with an equally strong passion for classical music. I don't care what you look like, or whether you can cook, or whether you understand the rules of football -just talk to me about something interesting. Like Schubert, or maybe the Grande Armee, whatever. I propose we start the gig in Eisenach in homage to the words of the biologist Lewis Thomas, who, when asked what example of civilisation he would send into outer space in the Voyager spacecraft, said: “I would send the complete works of Johann Sebastian Bach …....but that would be boasting.” We'll invent the rest as we go along.
