Should Dominic Cummings resign? We can all sympathise with his intentions. Maybe the actual wording of the guide is open to interpretation but the message was clearly stated and frequently That the family stay home. He may have travelled before showing symptoms but his wife did have symptoms and should not have travelled. The issue going forward is if there has to be another lock down are the public going to interpret it in their own way and if so where does that leave the police?ViewDate:

Is it sensible to allow specified year groups back to school?I accept we need to plan the very best way to open schools and it makes sense that there will be a need to implement many changes. It needs to be at the appropriate time. That is when we are much more confident than we are now that not only is the magic R is already consistently lower but that we can identify and respond timely to any increase in infection rates. We also need to understand more about the inflammation response being experienced by children who have had the virus. Just holding off a bit longer, maybe putting increased support for at risk children to help them attend the schools that have already been open.ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?I have concerns about the effect on mental well being especially those with memory problems and/or depression. There are of course well meaning people offering befriending and help but there is no way of vetting people you don't already know. When this period of isolation is over can be be sure that it is definitely safe or simply delayed.ViewDate:

Is the UK Government doing enough to lessen the spread of Covid-19?Yes, In a completely controlled society you could close everything and allow sections to be open to catch the virus and develop antibodies in a way our health service could dope with . But that is not reality; Reality is if you close schools the majority of parents would still have to work and the care of children would be the responsibility of the older relations themselves in the vulnerable category. Or the care would be shared between a number of friendship contacts. Is this really more sensible. Carers not vetted, My house is child friendly and safe as we have our grandchildren every week but not everyone's is. We still would have to go out to shop etc. At school with good hygiene at lease it would be identified and contacts easily charted to some degree. How long could we keep everyone closed in? Not everyone would follow the rules and if it is not complete it is hardly effective. There will come a time when it is right the difficulty is knowing when.ViewDate:

Will you be called upon to help with childcare if schools shut?We already look after our grandchildren after school 4 days a week. My husband and father are in the at risk category. I can limit contact with my father of 91 but will have to rely on good hygiene otherwise. I do not see any alternative. Other stay at home relatives are even more at risk. and sharing between a number of carers seems just to increase the potential to spread the virus wider.ViewDate:

Should over 70s be banned from voting on the country's future? We have length of life experience. Of the changes and redirection in politics as well as social norms. We are blamed for the past and lack of PC behaviour and poor practice, but not recognised as being the generation that has worked for and achieved change. Our experience and knowledge should be respected and taken in to account and not just the short fix, short term view of the younger generations.ViewDate:

Do you think the tactics of Extinction Rebellion are justified?I don't think the issue of climate change is being reported in a balanced way. There are many factors to be taken into account many of which are being ignored and not fully represented. There are many people who are using this issue to gain attention and fuelling the emotional anxiety of others. Some of which feel in our present political climate of uncertainty totally disenfranchised and looking for something to give themselves a feeling of control and self worth. Whilst we need to act and continue to look at ways of reducing our negative impact on our environment in every way we can. We need to be much more aware of the real cost of changes in the long term. We also need to be more proactive in identifying ways to live with climate change as it is inevitable that the world will continue in its cycles regardless.ViewDate:

Who is your preference for the next Prime Minister?Boris has always been a leave EU believer and we need someone who actually wants this to work. He is portrayed as a buffoon but I think it is becoming more obvious that the establishment and the media is against him and what is reported needs to be viewed with this in mind. His private life is his own business. The behaviour of parliament so far has been an insight into just how self interested most MP's are and how poor they are at understanding the process of negotiation. We need to be clear that the present situation cannot go on. Delay is damaging our businesses and costing millions that could be better spent. Boris seems to be our best bet.ViewDate:

Will you be voting in the European Elections this month?I feel that not to vote will allow other's to succeed. I voted to leave the EU no deal required, I wanted the country to be able to renegotiate with European countries from a position of freedom. There are many things happening in Europe at present which will become part of our lives if we stay in. I do not think these issues are being addressed in the media or by politicians. I am offended by the simplistic scaremongering. Treating people as if they cannot look past the immediate choice of in or out. Staying part of Europe could see our economy fail as many within the economic union are struggling. I find it worrying that some countries are no considering violent action against sections of their own people. The not listening to peoples concerns attitude is spreading. Most of all what happens to our legal and political systems when we can no longer trust our democracy.ViewDate:

Is a bad deal better than remaining in the European Union?I voted to come out of the union.I don't see why we need any deal prior to leaving. I wanted our businesses to be able to trade freely without intervention from the EU. I wanted our MP's to make laws, manage budgets and decide how best to support our industries in our countries best interest and be accountable to the people. Once we have left we are free to negotiate with whoever we want and who ever is free to negotiate with us.
