Is 65 too old to become a mother again? This is what happens when economic considerations are given precedence over ethical & professional standards I'm afraid. If you have the money & can find an avaricious clinician with no moral compass then you can have a baby well past your maternal sell by date...ViewDate:

Should smoking be brought back into pubs?It shouldn't be reintroduced universally & certainly not where food is served or infants, children & other people who lack the capacity to make a conscious choice about being in that environment are present. However, in well ventilated, separate areas where competent adults make the choice to go & staff aren't under any pressure to work: then why not? The smoking ban has killed the live music scene in pubs & clubs & the change in income from alcohol to food has seen countless business close down. I am not your Nanny & neither are you mine; so let's be mature & sensible about this...ViewDate:

Should Jeremy Clarkson be sacked or reinstated?Think this man needs Anger Management therapy after a complete psychiatric & physical assessment. Years ago I wondered if he might be brewing a frontal lobe tumour as his behaviour were not moderated by his inhibition centre at all - now I realise that he is out of control - either needs treatment/therapy or perhaps someone to give his bottom a good spanking because that's what Nannies used to do to naughty young little Masters years ago!ViewDate:

Should Jeremy Clarkson be sacked or reinstated?I propose that all those "supporters" who started objecting about this creature's suspension before they were in even partial possession of the FACTS &, who now undoubtedly will be mourning his dismissal; might want to consider volunteering for a new TV reality experience hosted by JC himself: JC's Abuseathon Challenge - contestants will be judged on how long they are prepared to be exposed to and TOLERATE a torrent of verbal abuse from the specimen himself before climaxing in a punch in the face... The prize? What else? a sandwich & chips.ViewDate:

Should smoking be brought back into pubs?1. Have separate smoking & non-smoking areas in pubs (like they used to YEARS ago). 2. Ventilate them PROPERLY. 3. Give staff the CHOICE about whether or not they work in the smoking area. 4. Dont serve meals in the smoking area. I, my partner & a lot of our friends used to participate in traditional music sessions on a regular basis - some of us smoked others didnt. When the smoking ban was implemented it destroyed the sessions (interestingly the musical giants in these get together were all smokers), the venue is closed now. We saw the writing on the wall for live traditonal music when the American tourists in Ireland drove a ban there. Yes you may still see one or two musicians "performing" for money, but those fluid dynamic & exciting to play in or listen to spontaneous sessions are a thing of the past... Sad.ViewDate:

Do you think the poppies should remain beyond Armistice Day?I am really dismayed by Boris Johnson's proposition. Yes the poppy field has undoubtedly drawn a lot of visitors to the Tower of Londong & given "tourism" a huge boost: but surely, that has just been a positive side-effect. The poppies are not there to boost tourism or make money, they are there to honour the dead & to help those of us who want to remember the outbreak of the First World War. If BJ were to propose that Highgate Cemetery was turned into a commercial enterprise & theme park how would people react? Armistice Day was always intended as the last day for the poppy field to be there & the uninstalling of the poppies starting on this day is absolutely the right thing to do...
