Just Know Tough Times Do PassLovely poem, I particularly like this line "If you’re tired of wearing a painted smile", reminds me of the "Keep calm and carry on" attitude we are expected to promote, sometimes nice to drop the act. Thank you Maxine.ViewDate:

Is a four-day working week the way forward?I think this could certainly improve moral in the workplace and with more people staying at home to work, surely it will make our roads a little quieter.ViewDate:

Do you always follow 'use by' dates on food? It's the most assured way to tell as there is much confusion between best before and use by dates. I hate throwing good food out.ViewDate:

Will you be supporting small businesses this Christmas? For me that includes help from the Government, especially if you include the Virus! Too many big companies have taken the government for a ride whereas smaller business have really not been given the support required.ViewDate:

Will you be supporting small businesses this Christmas?Good for you, it's important we continue to do so, as it seems that they are the only ones supporting local produce over profit.ViewDate:

Teenage Urban 'slang'I was recently informed of a website called urban dictionary, thinking I could use this to get ahead of the game and ensure I know what my kids are referring to, when I hear them shouting down their phones at friends, behind closed doors - not sure why they always need to shout, but that's another topic altogether ;) I very quickly realised that the urban dictionary website is very much built for kids and quickly exited - a shame!ViewDate:

Should all Christmas parties be off this year?I agree with you there, caveats are a good idea but these will have to set in place by the individuals as no one is likely to follow any instruction from this government, as they will be partying irrespective!ViewDate:

Should all Christmas parties be off this year?Yep totally agree, covid is here to stay. The vaccine has proved successful in lowering the lethality of covid and with that hospital admissions, without causing unrest and widening mental health issues, i'm not sure the same can be said for lockdowns. Even if this Government finally give clear and suitable instruction, it is too little to late, as I certainly don't believe a word of what they say and I'm confident I am not in the minority!ViewDate:

Should all Christmas parties be off this year?I think we should try to get back to normality and Christmas party are part of that. If the latest variant is as less of a threat as suggested, especially to those of us who are double jabbed, then we can make our own decisions as to the amount of exposure we pout ourselves through over the Christmas break.ViewDate:

Did you own a pair of Stanley Matthews Football Boots too? From what I have read it is Nike boots that have this specific issue, it's actually been known for many years - https://www.footy-boots.com/bbc-investigates-smell-nike-products-5361/ Unfortunately as most of us like a bargain, I certainly do an find myself in the aisles of places like Sports Direct who tend to stock the new boots at big prices next to the 3 or 4 year old models at very cheap prices and it's sometimes difficult to resist and as long as you avoid Nike you should be ok. Having said that if you pay that bit extra on some decent leather boots and look after them they will last twice as long, look after your feet and save you money on the long run. With regard to toecaps Wilf, I think modern footballers would actually be laid out more often and less play acting!ViewDate:

Do you support a 'sugar tax' to help tackle obesity? Why not? If it can raise some money and awareness is it such a bad thing?ViewDate:

Should the traditional red cricket ball be changed to yellow? It is a case of where do you draw the line. In this case we lost as per the current rules of cricket that everyone has to abide by and we should stop crying over spilt milk! I agree that some things are crying out for change in certain sports to ensure that mistakes that cost, games, championships, trophy winning opportunities can be avoided - goal line technology for example. If it 'aint broke don't fix it!ViewDate:

Is the balance right between toddlers social interaction and technology engagement? It's a tough one, as it really depends on what and where the interaction is. Mobile screens are great if they are being used to educate, however being used as a TV over dinner, breakfast any meal is just rude and the wonderful sights they might miss whilst staring at a screen is a worry. At this rate the next generation will have very little reason for leaving the house! I will submit that growing my parents would do whatever they could to keep us entertained during moments of any trip that was more to their delight. This however did involve far more creativity for both both parent and child than simply slipping a screen in front of them. We run the risk of becoming ever more lazy and fatter still, with obesity already on the rise!ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsMe too, this subject appears to have been swept under the carpet of late. It's too important to allow the media to control it's exposure!
