Are you having problems with your online grocery shop?My husband and I are self isolating, not because we're ill, but because we both have medical problems and are nearly seventy. We both have online shopping accounts and I tried to book future orders right from the beginning of the Covid 19 scare. I booked one order for two weeks ahead and thought two weeks ahead would be enough. When I tried a week later to book another two weeks ahead the site was 'swamped' and when I did eventually manage to 'get in' the next available date was in three weeks time (that's 2 weeks from now). I ordered as much as I could from Amazon, but was getting worried. My husband has been active in the local 'Save the Greenbelt' group and one of his friends there runs a small farm shop. He arranged a delivery for us and now we have a fridge full of fresh vegetables, plus some fruit. We should be OK for a few weeks, but who knows what is ahead? If we had been unable to get more food our nextdoor neighbours had offered to help, as had the local church. Usually I bought a little extra for the Food Bank, but I haven't been able to donate for a couple of weeks now, but hopefully some local supermarkets will be able to help them.ViewDate:

Would you be prepared to pay more tax to fund the NHS?The NHS saved my life when I was 'knocked down' as a teenager, I was in a coma for 18 days and cared for in hospital for 13 weeks. My eldest daughter was born 'naturally' with the NHS and for my youngest I needed an emergency caesarian operation without which both of us could have died. I don't think I could afford £2000 personally, but between my husband and myself we could do.ViewDate:

Mothering Sunday or Mother's Day?For me (as a Christian) it's Mothering Sunday, but for my children (who are Atheists) it's Mothers Day, but it's the sentiment that matters not the words. I was fostered and I usually managed to find cards that said 'Happy Mothers Day' without saying 'To my Mother' but Mothering Sunday cards were harder to find. :(ViewDate:

Barometer Survey shows the over 50s have strong views about BrexitAre you insane? Mind you if you voted for Brexit and the destruction of the UK economy and the union ... I guess that gives the answer.ViewDate:

Is Climate Change really happening? The Earth's climate does move in cycles, however human activity has added greatly to the natural cycle. We do need to harness environmentally friendly energy sources more. Unfortunately Big Businesses are very short sighted and only want profits NOW,they don't seem to care about the consequences of their actions in the future. The UK government's capitulation to the fossil fuel industry in ending subsidies for environmentally friendly energy sources, shows their cowardice and myopia. They should have used the money from the taxes that tedennis moaned about to finance this instead of just adding it to the overall attempt to 'cut the deficit'.ViewDate:

Who would be the best leader for the Labour Party?I rejoined the Labour Party because of Jeremy Corbyn and at 63 (and 'mobility impaired' I am sick of being labelled a thug ... because I'm not a neo Tory.ViewDate:

Would you vote differently in a new EU Referendum?I voted Remain and would still do so, but I am waiting to see how many deals with the EU our government can make without 'free movement of people'. It should be interesting. :)ViewDate:

Barometer Survey shows the over 50s have strong views about BrexitLatin, you wrote 'Stop benefits and make everyone work for benefits! We don't need migrants as cheap labour!' Didn't you realise that Employment Support Allowance, Disabled Living Allowance and Personal Independence Allowance are all 'benefits'. Though from my interaction with Coventry Social Services who rarely told people the correct information about benefits, I'm not surprised at your ignorance of Social Security. Yes, I saw people trying to fool us (who were often caught, as the 0.7% of fraud shows), but as I said the majority of people want to work. PS. Do you mean you let them get away with the scams that you recognised?ViewDate:

Barometer Survey shows the over 50s have strong views about BrexitYou want those claiming Employment Support Allowance (because they are too ill to work) to work for their benefits, Latin? Or perhaps you're one of those who have been fooled by the right wing media into believing that millions are lost in benefit fraud? The last measure of Benefit Fraud (in 2012) showed it at 0.7%. That's including all those who reported a change, but the money had already been issued, and those who died but benefits had been paid and were not returned. Incidentally many ill people do try to work and the vast majority of those on Jobseekers Allowance really are looking for work. How do I know? I worked for the Department of Work and Pensions for over 22 years, in the Pensions Section, on the Counter and in New Claims!ViewDate:

Is the Labour leadership election process flawed?I joined the Labour Party as a retired member a day or two after the election result. I am now retired but have always been a union member. I did not get a ballot paper or email despite three emails and three phone calls. I'm not too upset though ... I would have voted for Corbyn, though not Tom Watson. I fear the 'weeding' was not done very efficiently and the fact that though I am a staunch left winger I support having a Royal Family. I think they work hard for our country.ViewDate:
