Kindle vs BookI love my kindle. I was adamant that I would never like one as it would restrict my choice ,I would miss the feel and smell of the pages and any other excuse I could think of. I am a convert after receiving one for Xmas a few years ago. I got the kindle white and it now goes all over with me. I have read books by authors that I don’t think I would have tried by going into a book shop, I use it every day and my battery lasts for 2 months. I try the free books and buy books and the best of it is,if I finish a book late at night I can buy another without waiting for the shops to open. I still do buy books from the shop as I cannot resist the allure of a lovely book shop. But I would definately reccomend trying one.ViewDate:

Dating After BereavementIt all depends on how you feel. My daughter in laws gran met someone and the family love seeing her happy again. She has never forgotten her husband but needed to have company and someone to share life with. I have friends who have also lost their husbands and will never date again, but I feel that it is upto the individual and their happiness is what comes first. You do only get one chance at life and it needs to be how you would like it to be, not be governed by what people think.ViewDate:

Crafting at homeThanks for the response Trish, I am recording the sewing bee,as I usually forget when things are on. I am really looking forward to having projects on the go again, as this last couple of years I either haven’t had time or when I have had time there was no inclination. The enthusiasm is back. I’m new to the site so still get lost a little when trying to chat, so have probably missed lots of things people have said about their hobbies. I am hoping that I can message and get advise when I’ve gone wrong. Keep reading as I’m sure in the future you will hear my shout lolViewDate:

Crafting at homeI am about to start sewing again. I used to try and have made a few things using easy patterns, but I always felt that proper tuition would help. I have signed up for a course and am so excited. Does anyone else sew.?ViewDate:

Burning pastaI have used mayonnaise to clean bitumen from our step ladders. It worked really well, It’s amazing what you find out on the Internet. I cleaned my pan using soda crystals and vinegar, but will try brown sauce if it were to happen again. Perhaps people could post their best tips and we could all try them.ViewDate:

New to thisHi Nicki Welcome. I’m a newbie too and I am finding my way around the site. We used to have a rescue dog and adored him. We had him about 14 years and took him just about everywhere with us. He was such a happy friendly dog and I made a lot of friends just walking him. I’m sure your lovely dog will do the same for you.ViewDate:

Looking forward to springI really didn’t want a kindle as I thought because I wasn’t seeing the books my choices would be restricted, but it is the exact opposite. I have read hundreds of books by authors that I probably wouldn’t of looked at in a shop. I absolutely love it. I have owned this one for several years and would be lost without it. I use it every day. Did anyone else think the same as me about a kindle?ViewDate:

An open page for anythingHi Leonard I am always unsure of how to start a chat, but felt that I wanted to share my unexpected treat this morning. I was walking back from the dentist, enjoying just being out and about, and showing through the snow there were lots of daffodils pushing through. This gave me such a thrill all this bad weather weather, and nature carries on. Just lovely.ViewDate:

Looking forward to springI always love it when things spring back to life, but in saying that I do love all of the seasons we have, even when it’s cold. I don’t mind a walk as long as I am wrapped up.ViewDate:

Would you support the MPs call for over 40s to pay a social care premium?I think from the day you start work, you should pay into a dedicated fund for future care, everyone should pay no matter what is earned just a small percentage of what you earn would be an equal way to do it. It should he guaranteed by the government that it would be only ever used for the care of people and a pledge should be made that the government would never use the fund for other things. Then the fund should have outside audits completed on a regular basis to see that it is managed in the correct way.ViewDate:
