Should traditional nativity plays include pop songs and aliens?Christmas is for Christians or supporters of this faith, therefore it should not be watered down, by humanists or outsiders of this faith. All of the other faiths and great religions of this world have their own festivities and celebrations, try interfering with these and you will have a war on your hands. The ones who want to water down the Christian faith in all probability are the same ones who don't see the inside of a church, except for weddings and funerals, therefore have little to say in influencing a Christian activity such as Easter or Christmas. Not being a devout Christian personally, I still have mega respect for Christianity, as well as the other great religions of this world. Even although they have all contributed to such huge loss of life, wars and sheer misery for many millions of people all over the globe. Keep Christmas as it is, and teach the young children the intrinsic values and good parts of Christianity.ViewDate:

Is it time to make drink driving zero tolerance? The problem appears to be the punishment for the crime, rather than deterrent effects as has been promulgated in law. When the severity of a sentence makes such a drastic impact on a persons life, this same person or perpetrator will think again on whether the real risk of getting caught is worthwhile taking. To withdraw a driving licence, when one can still go out and keep on driving without not too much fear of getting caught by an overstretched police force is probable worth taking another chance. On the other hand a custodial sentence to-day can be likened to a Butlins holiday camp. Neither of which seem to be a suitable punishment for maiming or killing a person, while under the influence of drink or drugs, even reckless driving when sober is just as dangerous. Back to basics then, is it a punishment or in to-days parlance leniency and rehabilitation, seems to me it is the latter, and if I'm correct in my thinking, thereby could lie the core of the problem. Offcourse this needs not be limited to just drink driving, but can be applied across the full broad spectrum of offences and other offending of our civilised community at large...!!!! Don't look at the problem and it effect, rather look at the precipitation...hope there are some members of parliament on this forum.....if so take heed, and do something about it...!!!!!ViewDate:

Ten tips from the Suffolk Silver SurferWhile I tend to agree with almost everything posted here Keith, it is both informative and interesting. However due to the comprehensiveness of the article, I feel that it could be beyond the reach of many silver surfers. Basically most ISP's to-day offer their own versions of protection against viruses and malware, which are very regularly updated, so that the users don't need to concern themselves of how well they are protected. For all forms of financial transactions with banks and credit/debit cards, these institutions offer free software which further protects the users for keystroke and screen shot security while conducting all of their financial affairs. Having these products installed is an absolute must for everyone who uses the internet, but more importantly, once installed, there is no need for any other involvement regarding online security from a users perspective. Further down the line from here is the usual need for password changing which most of us hate to do. I see that our US of A friends are making more use of wild card symbols these days eg; /?@+=_-$£" etc some of which added to a regular p/w helps to alleviate the memory which many of us battle with these days. In ending thank you for your article, for me I did learn a few new tricks..kind regards....ViewDate:

Tablet vs LaptopFirst it was main frames, then desk tops, then lap tops and now an array of tablets and other smaller hand held devices. Ironically the processing power with the passage of time has increased at an exponential rate up to and including lap tops. Beyond the lap top, we are still waiting for future technology to do what the most powerful lap top is capable of doing, so there are limitations with processing power, versatility and speed. Many of us who do a lot of mega typing still prefer the keyboard to a screen, although the screens are popular with the younger generation whose use is mainly emails and social media. Annabel, have you closed down all your unused apps on your devices which tend to be power hungry, hence hastily reducing battery life? It is only a matter of time that the most powerful lap top to-day will be superseded by a new form of tablet, which will change the way we do things forever....!!!!!!!!!! ;-) ;-) ;-)
