Are you in agreement with the ban of smoking in cars with children?I agree with the idea of not smoking in cars, but I am a non smoker and know how it affected me in my childhood years.I still see people with their mobile phones stuck to their ears whilst driving. I agree that it can take your concentration from driving as can reaching for a cigarette and lighting it. Enforcement is so way down the list of priorities as the police have more than enough work to do without the extra manpower needed to enforce a no smoking ban in cars. I have asthma and still smell lingering smoke at bus stops after smokers have gotten on a bus and it still affects my breathing but it is outside therefore acceptable. In a confined space however, there should be adequate ventilation whilst smoking. I cannot see a total ban of cigarette smoking in cars working. These "new e-cigarettes" meant to help smokers come off cigarettes smell and affect me just as much. Obviously, children's health should come first but smoking is an addiction like drug abuse and alcoholism therefore hard for someone to stop. What is the next step? Stopping people smoking at home, especially where there were children. How would that be enforced? We know that we can catch cancer just by passive smoking just as much as the smoker but that will not stop someone smoking if they feel the need.
