Is chocolate your favourite snack?I love chocolate! I have become a little more discerning in my chocolate tastes as I've got older but I still love it and usually have a little square of my favourite bar every evening after dinner.ViewDate:

Is a four-day working week the way forward?Yes, definitely. I've always maintained that people who work part-time produce just as much work as those who work full-time so a 4-day week on full pay would be great!ViewDate:

Would you like to see imperial measurements return?Like most over the age of 50 I use both measurements interchangeably, although I better understand stones and pounds for a person's weight and feet and inches for height. I don't think everything should be changed again though - surely we can leave it as it is nowViewDate:

Will you try Sunions - the new tearless onion?I would absolutely buy them if they stop the tears! They may be milder in taste but other onions vary tooViewDate:

Do you fancy a jar of Chocolate Orange Mayo? How revolting! I couldn't think of anything worse. Mind you, the Americans pour syrup on bacon so perhaps it'll take off. Not for me though.ViewDate:

Could you give up your car?We live in a rural area with no bus stop nearby let alone a reliable bus service so giving up the car would mean relying on taxis. I would love to change our car for something more environmentally friendly but at present, they're far too costly. however we will certainly look into it when the costs start to fall.ViewDate:

Should HRT prescription charges be scrapped?I voted yes as I know how debilitating menopausal symptoms can be but there are many other people with all sorts of conditions who would benefit from not paying prescription charges. I think the whole prescription charge system should be overhauled, sooner rather than later.ViewDate:

Would you buy plants from eBay?Far too risky for me I'm afraid. I want to pick up and see what I'm buying. I probably do spend far more that way but at least I know exactly what I'm getting.ViewDate:

Should classrooms be mobile phone free zones? This is a tricky one as, on the one hand, I can see how mobile phones could have a place in the classroom if used correctly and under teacher supervision. They're especially useful for dyslexic students for example who take pictures of notes on the board with their phones rather than copying in longhand. On the other hand, I can see the argument for not having them as they could be a distraction too. On balance I think it should be up to each individual school to decide what works for them and their students and the Government should let teachers decide rather than impose legislation.ViewDate:

Are you happy to return to the cinema?Sitting in an enclosed space with strangers for 2 hours does not fill me with joy at the best of times so it is definitely a no for me, although I can understand why some people would like the atmosphere of watching a blockbuster film in that environment - the collective 'oos' and 'ahhs' of an audience does lend an edge to certain films. For me there's also the monetary consideration. In my opinion cinemas were already very expensive before the pandemic, I don't want to think what they might be charging now. I'll stick to watching films from home, or better still a good book!ViewDate:

What is your go-to comfort snack?Great question! It's a banana sandwich for me. It's got to be chunky white bread with butter and the banana has to be mashed. I used to love it as a child and I still love it now!ViewDate:

Line of Duty - share your theories as the plot thickensMy goodness, what twists and turns - I can't keep up! I find this series much more confusing than the last and what is it with all those acronyms! Every time they throw in a new one I find myself trying to work it out and then end up almost missing an important clue! I agree with Marley444 I think I need to watch it from the beginning again or perhaps I'll just give the remainder of the series a miss and my poor old aching head a rest!ViewDate:

Will you be taking advantage of lockdown easing?I'm with you Marley444. I'm in no great hurry to meet anyone. I'm happy to keep myself to myself, especially until we know more about the South African variant that's heading to our shores. I also think that Boris could have waited a few more weeks at least until the over 40s had been vaccinated. I have family members who are between 40 and 50 and they are extremely worried as they have older school age children and are in the age bracket who could be hospitalised with this awful virus.ViewDate:

The joy of great-grandchildrenNot any great-grandchildren but we did have a grandchild born in January who we are just itching to cuddle! Not much longer to wait now. I do feel for those who have had new babies born into their family, perhaps a year ago, whom they have been unable to meet. Missing all those 'firsts' in a child's life must be heartbreaking.ViewDate:

Should the Covid vaccine be mandatory for care home workers?I agree with Marley444. Why, if you choose to work in a caring profession would you not care enough about your residents to keep them as safe as you can? So yes, I believe having the vaccine should be compulsory in a setting where there are vulnerable people.ViewDate:

Should NHS nurses get more than a 1% pay rise?I honestly believed that Boris would be more grateful to the amazing NHS staff. After all, it wasn't so long ago that he needed their care and dedication, is his memory so short that he can't remember?ViewDate:

Is cooking in lockdown a joy or a chore? As a couple we share the cooking and washing up (dishwasher is broken and can't currently get parts so it's an old-fashioned bowl and marigolds) but I can honestly say there have been times when I have really wanted to go out and perhaps have a pub lunch that neither of us has had to prepare and cook!ViewDate:

Win a Holiday for Two to Canada for Your Nominated NHS Worker!I am nominating my amazing sister-in-law who is a nurse and has been working in ICU since her hospital saw the first Covid 19 cases a few weeks ago. Her days are both physically and mentally draining and of course she is not only risking her own life but those of her family every day she selflessly helps those poor patients. We are in awe of how she has the energy and capacity to keep going and we think she is truly deserving of this incredible prize.ViewDate:

Do our modern Hi-Tech children miss out on learning basic life skills?I think children today may be missing out on learning these essential skills at school but having been involved in Guiding and Scouting over the years I know these are the backbone skills that form and can be gained from organisations such as these. They fill an ever growing essential gap that ill-funded schools struggle to meet. I think it's so important that our children and grandchildren learn these basics and I wholeheartedly applaud Bear Grylls (Chief Scout) for stepping up and encouraging children to be self-sufficient. There are ways these skills can be gained, parents just have to look for them, or perhaps look to grandparents to help.ViewDate:

Is anyone else suffering from Sleeplessness? My husband is suffering from a bout of insomnia at present, he too says he doesn't think he's overly worrying about anything but I'm sure the situation we all find ourselves in must enter into the subconscious somehow and leave us with our brains trying to find answers. Have you tried upping your daily exercise Carnflower, it might helpViewDate:

What is the most useless object you have ever bought?Good tip Rodders20. I now wear proper walking boots, whatever the weather but haven't owned a pair of leather ones since I was in my 20's as I found them rather heavy. But when this lock down is over I'll certainly try some new leather ones, there may well be some that are lighter now than years ago.ViewDate:

What is the most useless object you have ever bought?Ooh yes, I'm sure there are plenty but one that immediately springs to mind were a pair of so called 'waterproof' trainers that were not waterproof at all! Every time I walked through wet grass my feet were soaked through. I couldn't return them to the shop though as I had bought them during a dry spell and so didn't notice until I had well and truly worn them in. Grrrr And another bad buy were a pair of hold up tights that didn't hold up for more than 10 minutes. I looked like Nora Battie for most of the day!ViewDate:

Should the Government launch a food-rationing scheme?I've just managed a supermarket shop this morning. They were only letting in a few people at a time so there was a queue to get in but once inside most shelves were fully stocked (apart from the loo roll isle) and it was lovely to shop with so few people! I managed a full trolley load of food, so we're okay for a while now, thank goodness! There were still limits on the amount number of items of each foodstuff we were allowed though, which I think is only fair but possibly difficult for those with large families so properly thought out rationing, taking into consideration how many mouths you have to feed, might well be the answer.
