Best British Movies of the 80sIt has to be Educating Rita! Julie Walter's portrayal of a mature student haunted me when I returned to university. Turned out that my class was full of older students relishing the joy of education!ViewDate:

Waving HelloHi BornAPrairieGal. I have also just joined and am a full-time carer for an elderly relative. So, like you, don't know what to expect but would be very happy to pass the time of day in these socially isolating times, Take care, GrahamViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself. Thanks for the reply. You must have loved each other very much and that is a great gift in itself. Time may, one day, dull the pain which of course is not what you really want. That perhaps is for another time and place. In the meantime, can I suggest you cut yourself some slack and allow others to be with you on life's journey. As the old advert says - it's good to talk; usually for talker and listener! Take care and reply anytime, GrahamViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hi Formbyflyer I have recently retired and moved from my work area so I feel something similar. Trying to rebuild a 'social circle' is not easy as you get older not least in this time of Covid. I have been a member of The Ramblers for years but never gone along to any of their walks. Perhaps that's a way forward. Anyway, if would want, please reply and we can have a chat.ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hi Celtwitch If you want to cycle but concerned about achieving any distance, had you thought of an electric bike? I bought one a few years back and enjoy the security of being able to start the motor in a headwind or going up hills. I also joined a local cycling club that does evening social rides - they can go faster on the flat but I am the champion on the slopes! Locally, there are a number of senior groups that go out during the day with differing routes for various levels of 'keenness'. They usually have a break at a cafe mid-way through.
