Living with tinnitus: an online guideI have a friend who has Tinnitus and he goes to bed with a radio on very low in volume just to stop the ringing that he gets when in total silence, I used to have the sound of a dripping tap in my head until I had a Major operation on my inner ear.ViewDate:

Is modern technology really anti-social? Does it get in the way of real, old-fashioned conversation? What do you think and are your experiences.i used to be a Digital Engineer I work in that Technology for quite some time so I still love its out come but I do feel we are becoming dependent on it far to much, When I see children play on computers all day long and not going out or making things how I did as a lad, When I was a young boy I had Meccano and Steam Engines and all Mechanical toys, by this time I was seventeen I was striping my Motor bikes apart to see how it worked, then cars washing machines tumble driers hoovers anything in the end hence I ended up an Engineer and from that went in to Electro Mechanics and Electronics. Young kids today only seen to play with computers they are good but other things are need it life, for the skills of life, it is also a sad fact that you can see kids standing next to each other not talking to each other but to someone on a phone by text they seem to ignore the people they are standing with for the one's that are not there but on there mobile, to me they are losing life time skills being interactive with each other. Is it just an age thing women too were skilled in dress making and other jobs and it all seems to be la lost world now or is it me am I wrong, to me all young people should be apprenticed to some one who is working to teach them a tradeViewDate:

Have you retired yet or are you planning to any time soon?Silversurfers Editor said With no set age to retire in this country, the choice of when to stop working and retire is left up to the individual in most cases. Have you retired yet? Or are you planning to retire soon? These are some of the reasons you may be considering retiring: You don't like the work you do It is getting physically too much You are always tired or mentally stressed The cost and frustration of the daily commute You don't feel your efforts are appreciated/have been overlooked You feel that you are underpaid for what you do Your skills are not being used fully You want to enjoy more leisure time You want to spend more time with family You want to engage in other interests/hobbies/sports/travel. What are your thoughts?
I am a painter and Decorator and have just over one year to go before I retire, I an also semi retired I work when the work is there and not if its not, I would like to do a hobby when I retire to build a model railway, some would say that’s boring but it the Electronics and everything else involved in doing this I just need the space, so I think I will have to build a shed first to put it in, are there any other modellers out there if so please come and say hello always open for a chatViewDate:

Children taking holiday in term timeSilversurfers Editor said What are your views about children taking holiday in school term time? Have parents got a right to take their children out of school? Is it right that schools fine parents? What do you think about this and all the related issues? How would parents feel if their child's class teacher decided to take their holiday in the middle of term time because it's cheaper?
<br / When my children were of school age I took them Aboard a few times but I went to the school, I saw the Headmaster at that time and got my Daughters home work for that period, they did there home work on the flight to and from the holiday, it was as easy as that at that time. When my children were of school age I took them Aboard a few times but I went to the school, I saw the Headmaster at that time and got my Daughters home work for that period, they did there home work on the flight to and from the holiday, it was as easy as that at that time. When they went back to school they handed in there home work and were still at the same level as they would have been had they not had a holiday so the answer is see the Headmaster take the work with you make you children do the home work end of story.ViewDate:

Red wine has a miracle age-defying ingredient!I think I am like everyone else started with sweet white wine and steadily got drier and drier then changed to red, I like Blossom hill and Australian red wine also like South African wine -
