pervolia's bio
! am a retired primary teacher and science advisor. I worked for 5 years in Saudi Arabia and then lived the next 8 years in Cyprus. I am married to a retired Headteacher. We returned to the UK in 2011 and settled in Norfolk in an old toll cottage. We have one little rescue dog who is now nearly 10. We like holidays especially cruises and we have a lovely lady who comes and stays in our house to look after the dog. -

Have you been able to book a check-up with an NHS dentist recently? In 2011 when we moved to Norfolk we couldn’t find an NHS dentist so we went private. Since then we have had excellent care and go for check ups twice a year. In fact I am going this morning and have had 2 appointments since the beginning of lockdown. I have only had 2 extractions although my back teeth are mainly fillings.. I feel I am in good hands.ViewDate:

Are you ever too old to own a pet?I couldn’t answer your poll as I think there is a ‘depends’. If you are fit and we’ll and have thought about who will look after your pet if you should die or need care then certainly have one whatever age you are. We sadly lost our dog 3 years ago after she was attacked by a greyhound and the trauma it left us with has taken a long time to heal. In that time we have realised what a tie they can be. We can now go off for a few days here and there as well as holidays for a longer time without having to look for dog care. But I think the time will come when we will consider another dog but it will not be a puppy and certainly a rescue dog of a medium/small size that doesn’t need too much exercise, especially in bad weather. I think what I would say in a concise sentence is - think carefully before you commit to anything.ViewDate:

Win a prize bundle from Kennedy Wild Bird Food Ltd worth £150I love putting bird food out but in the summer we saw a rat eating some at least 4 or 5 times and bold as brass in the middle of the day. Today we had an electrician here to find out why our lighting had tripped. He found a cable had been gnawed through by a rat. So, should I still feed the birds?ViewDate:

Get the knitting bug with modern designsI am the same, I prefer to knit children's clothes as they are quicker to do and I can do more intricate patterns. As my grandchildren are now 'too cool' to want to wear my knitted offerings I use cheaper wool and give them to charity shops.ViewDate:
