Is a second national lockdown for vulnerable over 50s the right way forward?Any compensation should come from the pockets of the entitled young, who care for nothing and no one but themselves. God forbid that they are asked to adapt their precious social lives to fight a global pandemic.ViewDate:

Is a second national lockdown for vulnerable over 50s the right way forward? We are not being forcefully confined. Being in the shielded category, we have a choice whether to give ourselves maximum protection from the virus or not. So many are wrongly stating that shielding is mandatory - it is not. Though I do agree that enforcement by police on those who flout the guidelines, particularly the young, is pathetic. Our police force are not prepared to take the action required. They prefer to make their lives easier by appeasing the flouters. The longer they take no action, the quicker this virus will escalate and make life much more difficult for all of us.ViewDate:

Is a second national lockdown for vulnerable over 50s the right way forward?I am shielding and I don’t feel forgotten. I feel protected and supported. What are you not getting that you’re expecting, given that safe access to indoor public areas was always going to be slow for shielders for their own protection? It’s the people flouting social distancing, particularly the young, who are making it slower for us all, not the government.ViewDate:

Should we rule out imported chlorinated chicken from the USA?The majority of chickens in the U.K. are raised in intensive industrial farming conditions, with almost 800 livestock US type mega farms throughout the country. Nearly every county in England has at least one industrial-scale livestock farm. Whilst not condoning poor animal welfare, it is hypocrisy for the UK to criticise and ban the import of chlorinated chicken on the basis of animal welfare. As I said, this has been highly politicised by the anti-US left.ViewDate:

Should we rule out imported chlorinated chicken from the USA?There is absolutely nothing wrong with chlorinated chicken. Spain wash their salads in chlorine, but there are no uprisings about that. Would rather have chlorinated chicken than salmonella. It has just been politicised by left wing anti-American labour activists, who are doing everything they can to try to scupper a trade deal with the US. Those who shout loudest are not necessarily speaking the truth.
