Are you living with tougher lockdown measures at the moment? As we are a vulnerable family we have no choice but to take lockdown seriously. I am totally fed up with the whole thing to be honest and have found my mental health has suffered with the stress. However, I feel that this is something which we will just have to live with and hope that this virus becomes less virulent, and doctors are able to find better treatments that lessen the effects of this illness.ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Thank you for the welcome Northern. I'm finding it a bit overwhelming to start but I am sure I will find my way. Its a big step for me as my confidence has taken a battering but onwards and upwards as the saying goes!ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hi NorthernChris. Due to ill health myself I am unable to do the sports which I used to enjoy so I do read a lot. I enjoy reading lots of genre but generally crime/murder mystery/war. Not keen on chic lit. Just bought Les Miserable as enjoyed the BBC adaptation. I love watching rugby union especially the Allblacks. I also love watching tennis, gymnastics. I used to love going on holiday too but haven't been able to do that for a while. Hopefully will at some stage. Love Newcastle by the way!ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hi. I'm Natalie 56, but very young at heart. Just joined and live in the North East. Am a full time carer to my adult daughters so feel a bit isolated. I don't have any family or friends up here but hope that changes soon.ViewDate:

Will you be stocking up on provisions for post-Brexit?I will be buying some of the essentials just in case, but not going over board about it. My pharmacist showed me the stock they are accumulating which is about three months supply so at least they are prepared. Nobody actually knows what's going to happen but to tell the truth I am sick and tired of hearing all the doom and gloom. Just get on with it!ViewDate:

Should women join the SAS?I very much doubt many women have the physical strength/endurance, to be a part of the SAS. Intelligence wise....no problem, but to be able to keep up with the best of the best in physical training/exercise and combat over an extended period is highly unlikely. I hope I'm proved wrong though.ViewDate:

Is it too soon for Easter eggs to go on sale?I used to work filling shelves in the evenings at Woolies to earn a bit of extra for Christmas. Christmas Eve we would clear the shelves and put out the sale goods as well as Cadbury's mini eggs and creme eggs!ViewDate:

Is obesity a lifestyle choice or a disease?I was fat as a child despite cycling 12 miles a day, and playing netball, and being outside a lot, so I must have been packing away an awful amount of poor quality food. As a teenager I lost lots of weight through not eating. Then in my twenties became a gym fanatic and ran 20 miles a week and worked out 4/5 times a week. Was slim, toned and fit. Then hit 40 and its been downhill all the way. Thyroid decided to pack up, broke my ankle and have loads of metal work which stops me from being able to walk very far. I have found it really hard to accept that I can't do what I used to regarding fitness. I find that I comfort eat which I know is stupid yet I still do it. I know that if I reduce the amount of carbs I eat I can lose some weight but I don't think I will ever get back down to my ideal weight. Que sera sera!ViewDate:

Is a 'stiff-upper-lip' mentality partially to blame for today's mental health problems?I think that unfortunately the children of today are faced with far more pressures than we ever did and it is causing them problems which they shouldn't have to face at such a young age. This continues into adulthood. Over sharing, and suppressing emotions can be as bad as each other. Its finding the balance which is the key to good mental health.
