Speakers Corner CommentsTry the Salvation Army - they found my uncle for me after years of him not having contacted any of our family.ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsGood heavens what makes you think only cars have a right to pay for the roads we all contributed to building! At least the cyclists do not poison us with their fumes.ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsHi Jo, not sure but think you are a lady and I would suggest you join the WI in your area. They have interesting regular speakers at their meetings, lots of trips and you will probably find that lots of the ladies are on their own now and do things together independent of the WI. Pluck up the courage to go and join - best of luck.ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsHave you tried your local Adult Learning Centre? I go to upholstery classes, wood working classes, have been to weaving classes and many other crafts. I have friends who do a foreign language and other who are learning to draw and paint. If it is run by the local authority there are probably good discounts for those who are retired. Nearly, forgot I also go to the local authority leisure centre and do Body Balance, Keep Fit, All the participants in my keep fit class are around 70 - give it a go.ViewDate:

TRAVELING SOLO AND LOOKING FOR A COMPANION?Hi Cotswoldtony, not able to join you but just wanted to say I lived in Competa for three years after I took early retirement. We had a place just outside the village with lovely views down to the sea. Its a lovely place and reading your notes reminded me of how much I enjoyed it there. My husband had a stroke and I felt I had to bring him home, I would recommend anyone considering joining you to do so - lovely place, lovely people an so relaxing.
