Are you keen to go back to your workplace or do you prefer to work from home?Being long retired, my vote to stay at home is only theoretical. It must be down to the individual. If I was under 40 and underlying illness free I would have no hesitation in going back to work, unless I was sharing my home with a vulnerable person, in which case I would be staying at home. Unfortunately I would not trust Boris Johnston or any of his band of merry sleight of tongue fellow underachievers to tell me the time, even less little what they claim to profess.ViewDate:

Do you feel that freedom of speech is becoming restricted in the UK?About 30 years ago I went on a racial diversity course. I was gobsmacked to find out that the Irish were classed as an ethnic minority! Speechless!ViewDate:

Do you feel that freedom of speech is becoming restricted in the UK?Long gone have the days on official forms to select the option “ White English “ If I was born in Germany I would be a German, France I would be French, England I am now British. Thought Police already branding me a racist? The minority’s rule, not being satisfied with that they insist on pushing their agendas into the educational system. I am expecting to see the Albert Docks in Liverpool to be demolished any time soon due to its links to slavery. ALL lives matter, and racism is hideous. I wonder how long it will be before we are ostracised for the origins of our birth?ViewDate:

Are you deterred from going on a cruise or happy to keep sailing?I have always fancied a cruise as I get older but have done nothing about it. I wouldn’t even contemplate it during these times. There have been some horror stories in the media of people being trapped on board with Coronavirus spreading amongst their shipmates.ViewDate:

Will you be visiting your local pub this weekend?I certainly wouldn’t visit the pub this Saturday or any other time in the near future. Being aged, fat, and diabetic I feel that the Coronavirus is waiting for me to slip up. Once alcohol takes over inhibitions lessen and the one metre rule will be temporarily forgotten. For those who do go out, enjoy, but have the decency to tell people that you intend to visit in the near future that you are out mixing socially so that they are aware. CheersViewDate:

Do you use chemical weed killer?I am, or rather my garden is, infested with horsetail. Impossible to hand weed, their root system is so bloody sophisticated. Leave even the slightest trace of the root and you are guaranteed thriving examples of the plant/weed at some time in the future. It is even rumoured to grow through concrete. Anyone who has successfully eradicated .this blain of my life please feel free to share your successes .ViewDate:

Are you hoping to go on holiday this summer or are you feeling hesitant?“Wow” I thought to myself when I saw that the vote was 100% for hesitant. A short scroll down revealed that , so far, I was the only one to vote! I will probably book a starvation with my grandchildren. I wouldn’t trust going on a plane even though I miss the idea of guaranteed sunshine. I am also surprised that foreign governments, who seemed to have acted in a more open and honest management of the Pandemic, would accept anyone over 50 from the UK. Still, as they say, MONEY TALKS.ViewDate:

Will you download the tracing app when it becomes available?Trace the line of command. Senior NHS management will not act in such a serious decision without the agreement of the Department of Healths say so. Matt Hancock is in charge of them. Who does he answer to, apart from Dominic Cummings of course.ViewDate:

Will you download the tracing app when it becomes available?I might change my mind later but not at present. It is I’ll thought out. These self serving, self interested buffoons in government are making things up on the run. And boy are they running. Their version of truthful accountability wants me to wish that Tony Blair makes a comeback., even though I wouldn’t trust him to tell me the time. Boris the Bluffer promised a fortnight ago that we would have a World Beating Tracking and Tracing system in operation by last Monday. We are having difficulty in tracking and even tracing the Tracking and Tracing system! Just watched Prime Ministers question time. Johnson failed to answer any of Keir Starmers questions though he did give his customary waffle. A farcical and very dangerous man.ViewDate:

Captain Tom Moore to be given knighthoodWell done Colonel Tom Moore. We all needed a feel good figure to pull us together, and this lovely gentleman came along at the right time and raised a miraculous amount of money. I look at most of the titled fraternity with disdain, but I would have no problem address the Colonel as Sir. Well done Sir Tom!ViewDate:

Have you received the holiday refund that you are due?I haven’t heard anything about my Magic Weekend ( Superleague Rugby League ) which is only a weekend. I am confident that when the tournament does take place, even if it’s next year, my booking will stand. I don’t think I would be so laid back though if like one family I read about who paid £14,000 for a family holiday. Ouch!ViewDate:

Should WW2 veteran NHS fundraiser Tom Moore be knighted?Normally when I see a “ Sir “ I have to admit that I have a strong feeling of disdain towards that person. A title used by the self appreciating, back slapping establishment to reward their own, or high achievers in sport or other entertainment who will have been well financially rewarded. Knighthoods are rarely awarded to people whose efforts have benefited the general public. What a lovely suggestion that this deep thinking gentleman be knighted. He has my utmost respect and admiration. Let’s all support this agenda. Has anyone proposed this on Change.org I would expect that millions would support this and those in the establishment would bow to public opinion. Sir Tom Moore. Now that is a title that would fill me with pride, respect and happiness. A very special gentleman who indeed has served his country through war and this current battle. Respect.ViewDate:

Queen to acknowledge the nation’s ‘pain’ in address about coronavirus crisisIn her gilded position how could she possibly know what the masses are suffering, the pain of losing loved ones, loss of personal freedoms due to self isolation, fear of the virus, many families trapped in one bedroom flats, short of basic necessities Certainly not from personal experiences.. I would safely guess that the Queen hasn’t been short of a toilet roll. So pardon me, I can’t say that I took what she said with a pinch of salt, as I didn’t watch it.ViewDate:

Are you due a holiday refund?A lot of money may be involved on a personal level, but this time, I am afraid, I have to side with ABTA.. As long I was given the credit note I would be reassured that my money was safe and that I could then book another holiday when I wished. If some of the travel firms go bust then that means less competition and higher prices. Just look at the prices of last minute holidays after Thomas Cook collapsed. 14 days is far too short a period in this situation. Hotels and Airlines will have been paid. Interaction between parties to claim recompense will take time, so I for one am grateful that so far my family and I have taken the necessary precautions and have luckily we have managed to stay symptom free. Many, many people would lose their livelihoods. In the bigger picture ensuring our health and surviving is a far bigger issue. I am far more worried about all our key workers having to go about their daily duties knowing that this virus is non discriminate in who it chooses. Special thoughts and deep admiration to the NHS staff and Carers on the frontline. Deepest sympathies to those who have lost loved ones.ViewDate:

Should plant nurseries and growers be allowed to sell their plants?Of course, but order via the internet only. It is a sad fact of life that not only will the plants perish some of our number too. Garden centres would prove to be too much of a temptation for many.ViewDate:

Is the UK Government doing enough to lessen the spread of Covid-19?Of course they are not doing enough. Allowing mass gatherings at football matches, rugby, horse racing etc., mass breeding sites for the viruses. Money talks so the sporting greed will continue. Sky tv should shoulder some sort of social responsibility and allow their Sports channels to be freely available to all. When this is all over they can recommence charging their exorbitant rates. Being slightly on the ever so cynical side, this outbreak, if it sees off many of us pensioners as predicted, will be a blessing in disguise for the government. We are seen as a drain on resources. Upping our use of the NHS, paying less tax and drawing our pensions. Just off to wash my hands.ViewDate:

Is it acceptable to share Irish jokes on St Patrick's Day?I am afraid that in this day and age all senses of humour have been strictly ruled by the thought police and so Irish jokes could even be classed as racist by those with a vested interest and seeking immediate media publicity. I laugh at most jokes that send up others, as long as i dont find them offensive. I am old enough to remember the TV programme, The Comedians. Hilarious individuals from opposite ends of the scale, From Ken Goodwin to George Roper and Bernard Manning. I find Roy Chubby Brown equally funny, but also political correctness now rules. Times have changed and i really couldnt name any so called present day comedians now. The Irish can laugh at themselves, as i do when funny comments are cast in my direction, but as i said, the thought police appear to haveus surrounded.ViewDate:

Should noisy snacks be banned from the cinema?Times have changed, possibly in some instances not for the better. Long gone has the practice of not making a noise in the cinema, Chatter, rustling or chomping, anything goes. Grin and bear it. The woman who challenges people about it must go in select cinemas. She would get short shift from the cinema goers in most areas. me included. if i open a packet of sweets i wait until the music or sound is louder.ViewDate:

Would you consider downsizing when you retire or have you already done so?Moving home is allegedly one of the most stressful experiences of ones life, not that i have ever moved home. I would consider it if health or financial concerns forced my hand, but other than that i am staying put, plus my young grandson has asked can he have it once i have popped my cloggs. ( My words, not his! ) His infant sister has less lofty expectations. " Granddad, when you die can i have your computer? " It is new. Its heartwarming that they are planning for their future at such a young age.ViewDate:

Are newspaper stories to blame for destroying lives?Newspapers, indeed all media, can build a person up but seem to take exceptional glee in destroying them should they err on the pathway of life. Not much surprises me these days,, but Carolyn Flacks death saddened me. What a waste of a life. What with the massive publicity how could she get a fair trial? Should any person from the establishment or with the right membership be treated in such a manner then their trial would not go ahead. Not that I believe Carolyn’s trial would have proceeded. Because of her celebrity status and the nature of her offence the Government has allowed the massive media coverage to continue to keep Domestic Violence to the fore. I am not in any way playing down Domestic Violence, a hideous practice, but the mass coverage in this case borders on the hysterical. RIP.ViewDate:

Is Labour's new WASPI promise credible?Dear me. Thanks for your well meant suggestion, but I would rather put pins in my eyes than vote for Labour. Boris is a blatant liar, even unable, or perhaps unwilling to confess how many children he has. Even those close to him and previous employers vouch to his inability to relay the truth. Corbyn watches the Queen’s speech on Christmas morning, That is until his interviewer pointed out that it is broadcast in the afternoon. The Daily Mail has this week exposed the fact that an IRA terrorist was immediately housed in Corbyns constituency after his release from prison. Thoroughly corrupt, the lot of them. Robert Mugabe must be bemoaning his luck that he wasn’t born in this country.ViewDate:
