Do you think the tactics of Extinction Rebellion are justified?Unfortunately the disillusion with our political system means that people have to take unpopular actions in the short term in order to get anything done. It's no good talking to your MP. As long they keep getting paid three times average full-time,pay whether they actually do anything or not (and most of them do the bare minimum), there is no incentive for them to do anything. XR should be concentrating their disruption on the personal lives of MPs not the general population. If you make them suffer then maybe they will come out of their apathy.ViewDate:

Should daylight savings be abolished?Gary, it is obvious that we get more daylight in the summer and less in the winter. We can't change that. The solution is to do indoor activities in the winter and outdoor activities in the summer. Simple.ViewDate:

Should daylight savings be abolished?"The March mornings are plenty light enough". Gary, it depends on what time you get up. It may be OK for you but we all work different hours.ViewDate:

Should daylight savings be abolished? The time across the world is based on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). If we don't use it all year round, we can't expect other countries to use it. 12 noon / midday GMT in the UK is when the sun is at its highest and due south. This seems to me to be logical and sensible. Having the sun due south at 1pm in the summer makes no sense at all. The impression of an extra hour's daylight in the summer is a myth. The total number of hours of daylight is the same whatever the clock says. Everyone has a choice what time they get up and go to bed. It depends on one's own lifestyle. Those people who support British Summer Time (BST) or even permanent so-called daylight saving time seem to assume that we all live to the same routine.
