Is Climate Change really happening? So you completely dismiss the proven cycle of warming and cooling that the Earth has been through in its long history? There is also evidence from NASA satellite observations amongst others that the average temperature has not increased significantly One violent volcano eruption can throw more poisonous gas into the atmosphere than any one industrial nation in a year. Is that ever taken into account when calculating current levels? There are clearly certain effects of human populations on the World, but we must be careful not to exaggerate them and to create taxation to 'pay' for pollution is specious as it damaging to our country's businesses.ViewDate:

Where do you think the extra runway should be built - Heathrow or Gatwick? If there was greater capacity at other airports then the need for night flights would be reduced. If more runways are allowed with the strict proviso that there should be no night flights then there would be greater protection for those who chose to live near the airport. Technology of aircraft engines has developed enormously and pollution per engine has been reduced and no doubt it will continue to improve. I am sorry you lost your husband, but there is little evidence to support the view that airport workers are in any way at greater risk than a member of the general population.ViewDate:

Where do you think the extra runway should be built - Heathrow or Gatwick?I cannot understand why we cannot have extra runways at Gatwick and Heathrow and other Airports. We need to be developing our infrastructure to accommodate greater access for both the businessmen and tourists to both visit Britain and to increase worldwide destinations for all. Our road and rail links need to be improved and a much more sophisticated and long term integrated plan needs to be agreed at Government level amongst all parties to ensure continuity and that it is achieved. It has been done elsewhere and we need as a trading Nation need to improve. Additional runways are but the start.ViewDate:

Which activity do you find most restful? If you are having restless nights with visits to the loo and feeling tired during the day, have yourself checked out for sleep apnoea? I did and was diagnosed with severe sleep apnoea (stopping breathing, in my case 46 times per hour!) I had no idea. Issued with CPAP machine by hospital to aid breathing whilst asleep. Has transformed my life! Now sleep 6- 8 hours without even moving apparently, have stopped snoring and don't feel tired during the day. When talking with friends nobody had any idea what sleep apnoea was and the strain it can put on your heart. I hope this post will help somebody.ViewDate:

Win a year’s supply of New Weetabix PROTEINRemember my Dad having two Weetabix every morning 7 days a week, year in year out. At that time I rarely had time for breakfast, however as I have got older the taste and requirement for Weetabix has increased and I am now nearly at my Dad's level of consumption. My question ;- Is the need for Weetabix in my DNA?ViewDate:

Can your child or grandchild afford to go to university without your help?As the young adults who attend are our future' seed corn' and are the ones who will be working and paying tax that will be paying our pensions, my view is that their tuition should be free, and paid for by current taxpayers. I would add the caveat that after University they must work in the UK for at least five years. Foreign students would be charged up front and if they had completed their five years, the money repaid. Currently we have students leaving with a huge burden and foreign students going home and not repaying, which manifestly unfair.ViewDate:

Should smoking be banned on British beaches?that is wholly intolerant, one hopes you do not indulge in any habit or pastime that annoys other people, or you might be judged a hypocriteViewDate:

Should the House of Lords be reformed? We need a Upper House, although the make up should be considerably different. Out should go the Hereditary Peers and grace and favour Union Masters and Old School pals of various Prime Ministers. They should be replaced by regionally elected 'Senators' (for a better word) using a form of proportional representation to minimise Party political preference and should (hopefully) include technocrats, social workers, from business men to housewives. Restructured clearly defined pay and expenses and a limited tenure, perhaps 10 years for those who wish to put themselves forward for scrutiny and election.ViewDate:

Should smoking be brought back into pubs?I have voted YES but must add the caveat that the decision should be left with the Publican, who should clearly display a notice that states 'This Pub welcomes smokers' at all entrances. Internal extractors and fans blowing the air away from the bar (to protect bar staff) would be useful. A separate room if available (like the old snug) could also be designated if the pub was big enough. The same sign should be posted outside restaurants. The public would then have a choice, to enter or go somewhere else, leaving the Publican/Restaurant to measure and respond to customer demand.ViewDate:

Would you like to become a spy?Isn't this what the KGB and the Gestapo did, with obvious unpleasant results? We are currently aware that we are all monitored to some degree by the Security Forces, Google, and even supermarket tills! Why would you want do this?ViewDate:

Older voters to be guaranteed free bus passes and TV licences!A more meaningful policy would be to increase Personal Tax Allowances to ensure that they exceed the State Pension including SERPS. Personal Pension Schemes which have benefited from tax relief on contributions, so they should be taxed . Increasing the Allowance would reduce the number of Tax Inspectors and the attendant paperwork saving a considerable sum. Then if the Allowance was large enough, Bus passes, free prescriptions, free TV Licences could be dropped along with a large section of the government employees who administer these benefits.ViewDate:

Should pension tax relief be cut to fund reduced university fees? There should be NO tuition fees for our students. They are our 'seed corn' and we should ensure they have the best start possible. Burdening them with debt before they have stepped on the working ladder is ridiculous. However foreign students who wish to be educated here should pay, as UK students wishing to be educated abroad have to. There are many alternative ways of funding Universities.ViewDate:

What style party leader TV debate would you like to see?Clegg emerged winner last time! I don't think so, he was made to look hopeless when confronted with Nigel Farage. It was those interviews that started the terminal decline of the Lib Dems.ViewDate:

What style party leader TV debate would you like to see?I don't think either option is ideal. Whilst Lab & Con roughly represent 70% of those who vote, this option does not allow the remaining 30% and none voters a voice. All minority Parties together for just 90 minutes would allow each approx.10 minutes speaking time, to lay out important policy differences and to respond to questions, which would no doubt become a shouting match and achieve very little. Much better a series of face to face where several formats could be used, rather like Question Time.ViewDate:

Do I Need Winter Tyres? It was interesting that recently one of the Car Magazines conducted a test with 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive vehicles fitted with Summer tyres and then Winter tyres which then had to tackle a steep ice covered slope. The 4 wheel drive with winter tyres obviously had the greatest success, but what was surprising that the 2 wheel drive with winter tyres achieved a far greater success and got much further up the hill than the 4 wheel drive on summer tyres.ViewDate:

Would you buy an eco car? There are increasingly convincing arguments for changing to electric/hybrid vehicles. One of the largest stumbling blocks though is the cost to the typical motorist (i.e. less than 10000 miles per year who essentially needs a 'shopping trolley' and a capability to have the occasional longer run) who tends to drive smaller cars. The Government currently pitches in with a £5000 grant, but this is on expensive cars and these are therefore is unattractive to Mr/Mrs Average. As the Electricity Companies would be the largest beneficiary if we all converted, why are they not offering to match or improve on the Government's contribution? I think if there was little or no difference in the retail price between a hybrid and a normal petrol or diesel car, many of us would change
