Mrchipps1's bio
i am a single man , as my wife passed away many years ago . I am looking to make and possibly meet new friends of both sex socially and possibly for days out?
my hobbies include music, singing in a choir and playing the piano for fun and relaxation . I love poetry in rhyme and over many years have created my own even having a few used in South Africa to try to enlist people to become organ donors
For awhile I had seemed to have lost interest in it and several other things due to loneliness, anxiety and minor health problems etc but now i have restarted writing and hope to create new poems, that I can hopefully use as lyrics for new songs I am a member of a Wakefield meetup group and am using this to try to help me get out more and meet new people and hopefully make now friends and find new inspiration for many things in my life? I am also a volunteer within SWYFT NHS, as I want to use my life experience and life skills to help and support other people, who for many reasons are unable to help themselves and possibly live better and more fulfilling lives. I rarely read books unless they are about self help topics and text books about social sciences or medicine etc -

Is it ever OK to date a work colleague?why shouldn't we date a work colleague, if a company puts a ban in work relationships in place, in my opinion they are being dictatorial and I will simply find another job and to hell with them ,as they are infringing your freedom of choice, expression and libertyViewDate:

Should smart motorways be scrapped?I completely agree ,or perhaps we should take a leaf out of Germanys book and have laybys , with barriers where it is safe to stop for short periods. because even if we have laybys on the motorways we are still at the mercy of driversViewDate:

Would you like a general election?I don't want an election, because to me personally it will not change a single thing in this country, all it will do is waste millions ,allowing pathetic MPs and party leaders to try and baffle people with their manifestos, that usually aren't worth the paper they are scratched on, we all know that MP,s and government do not keep their and don't care about the electorate, just their own egos and pockets so what is the point of an election, as it will simply slow down the pace of getting this country England, out of the greedy clutches of Europe and its bullying paymastersViewDate:

Should 'wolf-whistling' be a crime?I can remember when wolf whistles were seen and accepted as a compliment to either a lady or man? people did not do out of pathetic sexism or disrespect, simply as a compliment. my late wife told me that she had been wolf whistled at , and when I asked her how she felt, so told me it made her feel good and I told her that as long as it made her feel happy, I was also happy for it to happy and her accept it. sadly it is one of the freedoms of expression that we have lost today, because of pathetic people who don't have brains big enough to understand, that many people can make their own minds up about things and do not need sad gits or snowflakes to bully them into believing that things must happen a certain way, or we are breaking some stupid unwritten laws that live in pathetic bullies heads. and must be obeyed without question on fear of prosecution by the bullies and brain affected morons, who sadly seem to have killed of common decency, mutual respect and self belief and freedoms of thought heart and mind. long life decency and mutual respect, to hell with political correctness in all forms and bullying by snowflakes. we did not serve our country for it to be taken over by bullies and despots in search of egotistical power anddominationViewDate:

Should smart motorways be scrapped?I think that smart motorways are confusing and need to be either scrapped or drastically looked at and adapted so that drivers can understand them, because I believe that the average motorists does not have any ideas about how that actually work?ViewDate:

Are you more likely to buy a Marathon than a Snickers bar?I think that changing a products name for a short period, is simply sales gimmick to try to lull people into buying failing goods and [possible con people into believing that they are getting back the original items and ingredients , when it involves food stuffs. I wish that foreign companies who buy up English companies would show respect and at least agree not to kill of well established company and product names for at least 25 years. for example Rowntrees merged with Mackintoshs and then was bought by Nestle. and now Rowntrees appears sometimes on products, but Mackintoshs does not appear on Quality street tins/boxes Meredith and Drew biscuits was swallowed up by another company and is now known as United biscuits. and, 3 Halifax breweries Ramsdens (bought by Tetleys, now Carlberg) Whitakers were bought up Whitbread, and Websters bought by Watneys, and where are they now. plus how many car and motorbike companies have been swallowed up and killed off by foreign companies simply for greed or to kill off competition hopefully when England is finally free from the EU,s clutches, we will again see companies with English names, displaying stickers, saying made in England (not Britian)ViewDate:

Do A-levels put students under too much stress?if A level students and their families think that doing A levels puts them under a lot of stress, then they need to get real and realise that if they go to University, things will be a lot harder and stressful. plus when they go into the real world of employment, things will be much more stressful and they wont have parents shoulders to cry on. I went to college and University in my 40s and 50s and finished with an HND in social sciences, I lived on my own and didn't have anyone to support me, so I simply got on with it and enjoyed learning new and interesting things, that set me up for the rest of my life. So if students and families think A. level exams are stressful an hard, they should spend about 6 months away from home as trainees in any of HM forces, and work 36 hours without a break except for meals, or even several month on active service, abroad in war situations as many of my fellow soldiers did and I would have done if required as a soldierViewDate:

Do you support Boris's decision to suspend Parliament?I think the Boris is simply acting like his predecessor did and is acting like a spoilt child and dictator and in time, he like her will simply come to a sticky end people will only take some much garbage from him and all MPs, who are not working for their constituents, but only thinking selfishly about their own lily livered skins. I hope that when we next have an election, the whole lot loss their seats. they seem to have forgotten that we pay their massive salaries and can sack themViewDate:

LoveThank you Kes, I wrote the poem many years and do not writ much now, as I when I reached around 2000 poems i lost interest and ideas, to write about, I rarely write love poems, as the people that i write them about simply disappear from my life or ignore my poems, and that can be disheartening. I hope that you continue to write new poems and would like to read some of them regards Keith (mr chipps the poet man)ViewDate:

Will you be voting in the European Elections this month? Thanks for your opinion, which I accept and respect, but if I do vote it wont be for the 2 main parties and maybe Brexit or I may simply spoil my vote, by voting for more than 1 party that way I have sent my message, that I think the election is a farce??ViewDate:

Have motorists forgotten their manners?I believe that sadly far too many motorists have forgotten not only manners when driving but on an every day basis, we as kids were taught to ensure that ladies walked near the walls and not the road, we also had to open doors for ladies and girls and also wait until a lady had sat down before we did. and never begin to eat until everyone had been served. sadly there is no more manners or morals in our lives today, and to me that is a big shameViewDate:

Will you be voting in the European Elections this month?what is the point of casting a vote in this farce, because we wont make any difference to what happens in the EU, our own MPS don't care what voters want, so why should a load of foriegners who hate the English, because we had to guts to say, that we want to be free of the EU,s tyranny and money grabbingViewDate:

Will you be voting in the European Elections this month?I can not see the point in voting for something that to me is completely irrelevant and a complete waste of the taxpayers money, I think that the entire cost of this farce should be deducted out of the future salaries of those sitting MPs and attachments be made to their future earnings, even if it bankrupts them why should the taxpayers hell out for their mess and diabolical actionsViewDate:

Is a bad deal better than remaining in the European Union?I believe that the sooner ,we leave Europe either with or without a deal, the sooner this country and the people can settle down and get on with their lives, many of them have been affected by the uncertainty that has been brought about , the irresponsible actions of everyone concerned from the PM ,members of parliament and others who needlessly interfered to stop Brexit simply for this own selfish ends and against the majority of people who voted for Brexit we have lives before we joined the EU and with guts and determination, we can again grow and have country and nation of caring people that we can again be proud of and which will be admired by countries around the world??ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsI m living with mental health, or psychological issues such as depression low self esteem and confidence, and as far as I am concerned I am perfectly normal I would hate to classed as anything else even as unstable . my problems are brought about, by many years of loneliness , caused by me being on my own and living with deteriorating health issues prior to and since my lovely wife passed away from cancer and also the loss of other loved ones in my family over the last few years. I am working hard to get my life back to some kind of routine and conquer my low moods and feelings and get back to being able to be a happy and positive personViewDate:

Should parents stop using chocolate for egg hunts?sadly today, we are stuck with snowflakes and others whose only aim is to stop people enjoying themselves and seeing loved ones enjoy traditions that have been passed down through many happy generations. I say lets carry on with traditions for ever and ever. I used to be in a male voice choir and there were moves to try and stop them, and make every choir a mixed voice one, but for various reasons this can never happen? I now sing in a mixed voice choral society and love to hear the wonderful sounds of both ladies and men's voices either singing in harmony or performing separate items ?ViewDate:
