Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?I'm sure the isolation is to protect the elderly and vulnerable from catching the virus. The virus is contagious before symptoms start so it's not good to wait. We are already inside and have distanced ourselves from people as we are at high risk of being very ill if we catch it. I appreciate we are a couple and others live on their own but you can still open your window and talk to people, just keep them out of your home and no closer than 6 feet. Friends or family can isolate together too if the right precautions are taken. Support is the key to successful isolation.ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months? It will be very hard but it's necessary for survival. With the right support and the right plans in place, it is doable. It's no good thinking you can go on the bus and to busy places then think you won't get the virus and it's no good thinking the NHS will be able to help you. The NHS might not be able to.
