Seagreenwater's bio
Hi, I am currently living in NZ but travel back to the UK at least once a year to visit family living in Malvern. I work full time helping to run a BUPA Retirement Village on the Coromandel Coast. This keeps me pretty busy so when the weekends come around I don’t have the energy to be entertaining and usually go hiking/gardening/tending my bees (I am a registered beekeeper)/ or walking the dog on the beach. Not a lot of opportunity to meet people around my age. I thought this would be a good site to engage with likeminded people. -

An open page for anythingEvening, it is really weird isn’t it, here I’ve just finished a days work, had dinner and now ready for bed and you are beginning your day... never ceases to amaze me. I always get my timing wrong when I phone my son in Malvern. I have put two photos up neither of which are the Valley where I live. One is just up the coast from me, and the other is further up the North Island above Auckland at Piha. I am going with the tramping club to Oputere Bay by Waihi on the weekend so will take some photos then. It is on the eastern side of NZ so has lovely beaches. Scotland is very similar to parts of NZ especially the islands although we do have a lot more fauna and flora haha. Take care..ViewDate:

An open page for anythingMorning Len, sorry about the delay in replying, time zone I’m afraid. It’s 8am here at the moment and chilly. I know what you mean about long haul flights but I just bite the bullet and do it anyway. Have got it down to 25 hours yuk. Tend to walk around inside the plane to keep the kinks at bay . I was planning another trip in September but this time flying into Edinburgh and going on some walking tours and then catching train back to Malvern to see my family. Might leave it to the spring now. Getting back onto your subject of photos, I do love photography and will try and post some shots of the Valley I live in. At the end of the Valley is the Dept of Conservation and they have some fabulous walks there, the main one be the pinnacles which I haven’t done yet. Talk to you again.ViewDate:

An open page for anythingThank you LeonardM8, your last paragraph made me laugh... and considering it’s cold and miserable today here in NZ that’s a good thing, so thanks again.ViewDate:

Discover your secret Blues name!Hi Greyson, thank you for the hummus recipe, will give it a go... I like loads of garlic in mine. I also gave your Secret Blues Name a go... mine came out - Pretty Eyes Hopkins... cute. My dad was from London thou he fought in the Second World War before working his passage to NZ. Tough times create strong people I have found... look forward to some more of your recipes.ViewDate:

Would you feel comfortable going cashless?I must admit because I live in a remote spot I use online banking to pay my bills and also purchase items online. When I do go shopping at the supermarket I use my plastic card at the checkout but there are still times when I go to the farmers market or a field day when you need cash in your pocket because a lot of stall holders don’t have a eftpos machine.ViewDate:

Pen palsHi there, have just signed up with this website as I am interested in corresponding with someone in Scotland with knowledge of its beautiful countryside. I live in NZ, still working, but travel over to UK often to visit family. Am in the process of planning a week or two walking holiday in Scotland but it is difficult to choose. Would love to hear from you. -
