Win a Holiday for Two to Canada for Your Nominated NHS Worker!I nominate Amanda Shewan. She is my cousin and works as a nurse at Wishaw General Hospital. She’s working long hours with the dedication she always gives. She doesn’t have many holidays abroad, due to her finances, but her half sister lives in Canada and it would be lovely if she could see her again. Thank you.ViewDate:

Win a Holiday for Two to Canada for Your Nominated NHS Worker!I nominate my friend Julie Holligan. She is a frontline nurse and is absolutely exhausted. She is an amazing nurse, and I’d love her to have this well-deserved prize. She is normally a midwife, but has been on the frontline since the beginning.ViewDate:

Step back in time: to 1975I was 21 that year. And it was an amazing time to be young. Loved the music and yes, even the fashions! I was at Teacher Training College and the world was my oyster. Thanks for a wonderful reminder - Happy New Year to you all :)ViewDate:

Step back in time: to 1963I was 9 and I remember the Beatles starting out - such an exciting time! We lived in Leeds and I also remember snow still thick on the ground at Easter (April). We'd spent all winter scurrying out to the coal store for more coal and trying to keep warm. Ice on the windows in the mornings - every morning! And walking to school several times because the buses couldn't run. Brrr!ViewDate:

Should the World Cup be held in Qatar in 2022?In light of the arrests and corruption - definitely no. I think it should be cancelled for 2022 and FIFA completely reorganise the whole thing. Proof of the corruption is surely the fact that Sepp Blatter is being re-elected as I write this. 17 years of corruption and he says he can't watch everyone. That's your job you stupid man! Latest quote: "Sepp Blatter says ahead of election 'you can’t ask everyone to behave ethically just like that'" YES YOU CAN!ViewDate:

Will you go and see Fifty Shades of Grey?I read all the books and thoroughly enjoyed them. To me, they were about the balance of power in a relationship and how it shifts from one to the other. The BDSM was merely a symbol of this power. There was absolutely no grooming involved and the books have nothing whatsoever do do with child abuse as inflicted by Hall and Harris. However, I probably won't see the film as I prefer to leave Ana and Christian in my own imagination. For the same reason I never saw the Exorcist or many of Stephen King's films.
