Is July too soon for shops to be stocking Christmas products?I was in a shop yesterday and the assistants were saying they had Yankee Candles on offer, "great to put away for Christmas, it won't be long" Then in 2 charity shops they had their Christmas cards out. Sorry but No!! I will shop - and minimal at that - when I am ready to.. I no longer look forward to it, no children in the family. I will join in with the excitement of the children pre Christmas for Panto at the theatre where I volunteer but I dislike the occasion less each year with so much commercialism. The true meaning of Christmas is lost along the way.ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?My only income is State Pension and I pay £3 every week from this for my TV licence. I have no objection to this, I have paid this way for the past 10 years. HOWEVER i do resent the fact that MP's can claim for their TV licence at however many homes they own!!ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?My total income is just over £8,000 a year - I definitely think it should be means tested!ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?INam 70 so don't qualify as yet however I can only afford to pay for the licence in instalments (£3 a week) which I do not begrudge by any means. What I am annoyed at though is the fact that - once again - those on pension credit will benefit. I find the Guaranteed Pension Credit most unfair. Because I had a small frozen pension which gives me the grand sum of £6 per week (wow) I was entitled to Savings Credit which has now been stopped. Claimants can only claim Guaranteed Pension Credit which gives access to all sorts. My argument is that I worked 46 years but couldn't afford to keep up with private pension therefore live on State Pension, have no savings, live in housing assoc.flat. YET friends who didn't work as long as me therefore didn't pay in as much so come out with a little less State Pension and qualify for Guaranteed Credit - and they own their own expensive homes, have savings (yet I have no assets whatsover). They will be the winners as they will get/continue with free TV licences but I will always have to pay. Fair?? I don't think so!
