Items to put a smile on your face ? :O)Well who can blame them! It looked so inviting the other night. I almost missed it as the media said 10.30pm but it was here by 11.30ish. What a sight it was, I managed to take a photo on my mobile for my grandchildren but of course the spectacle I saw didn’t do it justice! Love your new photo.ViewDate:

Is the 'Naughty' label not nice?Your right StanleyK it’s not, but Most of the comments made about children on this page are very negative. I get fed up with constant negativity. I’m just making my point like everyone else. Have a great day. :-)ViewDate:

Is the 'Naughty' label not nice?Altho’ we have become boring old farts that criticise everything done by the younger generation we need to remember that not ALL children act terribly!!! It’s not an easy world out there and children need to express themselves. It’s no good saying, ‘well it wasn’t like this in my day’ Well I say, ‘GET OVER IT’ Not all children are bad! Rant over ........ :-/ViewDate:

Is the 'Naughty' label not nice?My father who was a very gentle man told me when I got married. Remember your children are a guest in your house, you're not a guest in there’s. Children need discipline.ViewDate:

Items to put a smile on your face ? :O)You may not think it world class Yodama but it made me smile and we all need to smile and laugh more! :-) Much better than my jokes, they’re non existent as I can never the punchline. Maybe I could take a course in ‘joke telling’. You could be my teacher! :-)ViewDate:

Good News or quotes to lift onesspirit...Sorry Lionel, This is not really a positive response. I’m looking for a more upbeat attitude. I think there is enough negativity in this world today and I can do without it. If you have any funny or heartwarming stories we’d love to hear them. :-)ViewDate:

Good News or quotes to lift onesspirit...There you go again Yodama, I’m still smiling! :-) I spent the day with my wonderful D-I-L . She was having a garden party in (of all places) the garden!!!! It started when we got up and has just ended, after sun went down. Talk about makes hay while the sun shines.....and it did, all day!!!! I burn easily so stayed in the shade, but what a day. Hoping we have many more like this....... :-)ViewDate:

Good News or quotes to lift onesspirit...Oh lord Yodama, The bike was my late partner’s, a Suzuki 1400. The BEST way to travel the world. Seeing everything first hand with the wind in my hair.....if I didn’t have my helmet on. Adrian wouldn’t allow anyone on the bike unless they were suited and booted in the correct safety gear! I bet you expected a Hells Angel especially as my username includes the last three digits of my mobile (That also raises some eyebrows). I was 52 when I met Adrian and we had some fabulous times. The reaction from some of my adult children was priceless but they saw how happy he made me :-)ViewDate:

Would you buy your supermarket produce loose, out of packaging?Well done Jemimazuk, I have often emailed supermarkets to offer feedback about their products etc. If we (the consumers) don’t let them know how dissatisfied we are with their items or packaging they will never know or change. I agree with you, as I think the biggest form of protest is to shop elsewhere but do let them know. :-)ViewDate:

How do other pensioners feel about retirement?I retired when I was 58 but became bored after four weeks. I missed the camaraderie, my workmates, the craic etc etc. I got a part time job at the hours I wanted and although it was hard at times I still loved it. I was told..... Life is what you make it. So I don’t do anything I don’t want to. Life is short so just do it. You’re a long time dead. I wouldn’t know, I haven’t tried it yet!!!!! lol :-) ,ViewDate:

Items to put a smile on your face ? :O)My most embarrassing moment, (actually there have been many, toooo many!!!!!) This one happened recently but I have loads from my terrible teens :-) Ok, so I help out at a charity shop and I was running late, which I hate. I got home quickly changed into a pair of old jeans on the bed. I was walking down the street when I felt something dragging behind me. I looked down and to my horror I saw a pair of my pants were hanging out of my jeans. I must have taken both off together and forgot about them! So the moral of the story is: Always check yourself in a full length mirror before leaving home of suffer the consequences!! lol but then life would be boring if we were all perfect! :-)ViewDate:

I’ve laughed my socks off......now my feet are cold!!!! Just keep ‘em coming, this world needs more laughter and good news. I’ll have to start a ‘good news’ thread, well I would if I knew how. Any ideas folks! :-)ViewDate:

Decline of the high StreetI had the same conversation on Saturday with a shop assistant in the town by me. I told her that I couldn’t understand what is happening to our high streets as I just can’t shop online as I need to see and try things on her size colour shape etc. I also don’t like returning items so I have to get it right first time. Most of my friends are the same. I’m a female of a certain age so maybe it’s a generational thing. Maybe it’s due to the huge overheads involved but I hope something is sorted soon.ViewDate:

Should graduates still be repaying their student loans into their 60s?It would be really great if young adults didn’t feel the need to go to uni. Altho’ it’s not as easy today as it was when I was young. Employers think you’re stupid if you haven’t been! I didn’t go and I did exactly what I wanted. I had a brilliant career. Two of my three children have gone to uni and the one that hasn’t feels undervalued. Even tho’ she has a good job and is happy she doesn’t seem to have the confidence that the other two have. It’s a dreadful shame that young ones today are under so much pressure to ‘preform’.ViewDate:

Who is your preference for the next Prime Minister? Can we really trust any of them??? No matter what party they represent. Boris is no Churchill and never will be. It has been said that Churchill stood by Clemmie when she had an affair over many years but do we really know what happens behind closed doors. I’ve never liked Boris but something inside me feels for him. He may be heading for a fall and even if it is of his own making, I can’t gloat. My sister once told me that I had splinters in my backside from sitting on the fence :-) but I just have the ability to see both sides in almost every thing. It’s a pain :-0ViewDate:

What goes first: milk or tea?I don’t have milk so it would have to be tea first! The reasoning behind the question is supposed to stem from the time when china cups were used. It was said that you had to pour the milk in first to stop the delicate china from cracking. I don’t know how true it is, just sayin’ViewDate:

Is going digital isolating elderly people?Well I guess there’s always the exception to the rule..... I’m 65 and do almost everything online. I would be totally lost without my two iPads and smartphone. I even have a reserve phone in case I lose one. My mini WiFi even enables me to use my iPad any where I want. I never go anywhere without it. In fact I no longer have a landline.ViewDate:

Can you envision a smoke-free generation?I’m not a smoker, never have been but I do think they have been treated unfairly. After all nicotine is the hardest drug to kick. I was a passive smoker for forty years so I should know. I also think it would be stupid to ban smoking in public places as there is far more pollution coming from cars, industry etc etc....just sayin’ lolViewDate:

Do you have trouble sleeping?I don’t have a problem with not sleeping. It’s not a big issue. If I can’t sleep I just get up and do something useful. Even if I only have a couple of hours sleep I know my body clock will right itself eventually. My late partner told me once to count (not sheep) just count and if your thoughts interfere with the count then just start at the beginning again. It worked every time.ViewDate:

MissingOh! I just loved your poem Silversurferg especially as I wasn’t expecting the ending! lol We differently need more of this, especially the humour....more power to your elbow. I lost my soulmate three yrs ago and altho’ I’m coping quite well (I think) I still have bad days. Have you heard Kate Tempest? A young poem on Jo Whitley show this week (Radio Two) Her words were so moving. Reduced me to tears in a nice way :-)
