Should there be less focus on space travel and more focus on Earth? Our own politicians seem to be shouting about global warming, but are really only paying lip service to the problem, while American politicians are back peddling the problem. It's not good enough.ViewDate:

Are you able to get a face-to-face doctor appointment?I concur with your remarks completely. My question is: How can a doctors work load be increased, if they are not seeing patients face to face. That's a false positive. If they are also too busy answering emails and e-forms, that is also a false positive.ViewDate:

Should classrooms be mobile phone free zones?Even putting mobile phones into a locker will not defeat the problem. One or two unruly kids will still cheat the system. That is unless each classroom has it's own locker under the teachers supervision. But then that is an extra duty for the teacher, for which the teachers will try to claim extra remuneration. (call me cynical, but it's a fact)ViewDate:

Should all GP appointments go online? All I can say is that you must live in an area where your gp actually cares about their patients. My senior gp always gives the impression of having no empathy at all.ViewDate:

Do you support Boris's decision to suspend Parliament?Bojo's the only one trying to follow the constitution and don't fence by saying we don't have a constitution. It's based on hundreds of years of democratic rule. We have the Remainers fighting tooth and nail for their EU pensions. Leavers fighting to have their democratic will carried out. Bercow doing his best to upheave the situation for his masters in the EU Commission. Boris Johnson might be a bumbler, a womaniser and bends the rules. So what? He's the only one trying to get the democratic vote through and working, while everyone else throws mud and lies to get their own ends. Even this site is slinging mud around and trying to force their own outlook and beliefs onto others. This is supposed to be a democratic country. Democracy has gone to hell in a hand cart.ViewDate:

Is it time to get rid of 1p and 2p coins? If they round up prices which is what would happen, the pension should be rounded up as well to compensate for all the rounding up of £1.99 to £2.00 and £45.99 to £46.00. Or a bargain at £399.99 to £400.00. I won't hold my breath.ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsIt's not the public who cause wars. It doesn't matter whether or not we are more respectful or kinder to each other, which is no bad thing. It's the politicians who cause wars. Look at Iran. Russia, Iraq. It's not the common people of those countries that cause conflict. It's the politicians, the Leaders of those countries that bring about war.ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?Don't forget that the BBC broadcast all over Europe as well as the World Service. Who pays for all that? British licence payers that's who. The BBC can well afford to let the free licence for over 75's carry on. Those over 75 don't stay up watching late programmes, they don't listen to the World News, The only BBC programmes they would watch are Eastenders, some sport, and Strictly. They don't watch pop music programmes. Which means that they will be paying for things they don't watch. Which in turn means they are subsidising those who do watch all BBC programmes, night and day. The government and the BBC between them have opened a can worms. To top it all the government has turned the BBC into another government department for taxation because the TV licence is a tax to view. Nothing more and nothing less. It's just another tax.ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?When those unsavoury characters come knocking at your door to see your licence DO NOT ask them in. They have no right to enter your home, they are NOT High Court Bailiffs. They cannot demand entry.ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?It has come to light that the BBC raised their broadcaster salaries by £10,000 each last year. They want the pensioners to pay for that increase. They should be called the British Bankrupt Corporation. That's what will happen to pensioners who have to pay up. There are very few pensioners who will qualify for the Pension Credit. For the past 20 years, there hasn't been a single government which has increased the lot for pensioners. They have always seen to it that those who are down stay down.ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?Marl; Not every pensioner is wealthy. Most of them are not. If you want a few home truths, when Gordon Brown was chancellor he advocated that everyone should take out their own pension policies. Then. he taxed the monthly payments for those pensions. Then he taxed all monthly payments for all insurance contributions. So pensioners were doing what the chancellor wanted and being taxed for the privilage of doing that. The BBC is a bloated institution, who are overpaying their radio and tv broadvasters with money the BBC gets from their licence contributers. It's high time they were told a few home truths. Namely that the pension is paid for a lifetime of servitude to this country, not so that the BBC can milk it.ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?Australians do not pay a tv licence at all. In 1972, every Australian household refused to pay the tv licence. The government had no choice but to scrap it. They couldn't prosecute the whole country, could they? Mind you, the Ozzies are a belligerent lot. This country couldn't do that. Or could we? There were 5.6 million Australians in 1972. There are 66 million of us in this country. But the people here stick together like oil and water over matters like this.ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?Hi Raindrop. The free tv licence for the over 75's has been established for 20 years and is now an integral part of the pension when a person reaches 75. To now make them pay for it equates to a reduction in the pension for those who are already over 75 by having to fund a licence out of their pension payments, thereby reducing the money available to them. That constitutes a reduction in the pension and is discriminatory to the over 75's by reducing their pension in this way.ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?The House of Lords is trying to advocate that the triple lock controlling the pension should be done away with and that the pension increase should be linked to the average national wage rise. That's all very well for the Ermine clad brigade to suggest that. It would be a good idea to have their remuneration increased by the average national wage as well. The national wage has been stagnant for the last ten years, but household utility bills have increased. But for the triple lock that would have meant a reduction in the pension income. An income that has been earned and paid for when today's pensioners were working.ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?The 'free' television licence has been part of the over 75's income for the last 20 years and is now an established part of their pension. To remove it would constitute a reduction in the pension for the over 75's. That equates to the discrimination of the over 75 pensioners.ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?We the government (that's us), can't afford the television licence for over 75's. But we the government (that's us), can afford £2.4 million for Meghan and Harry's cottage.
