Car Parking at HospitalsI totally agree. My husband was having regular chemo. You had to pay for a ticket for the first 3 hours and then after that you could get a note from reception for the windscreen....which often involved walking up to half a mile back to the car and then back to the unit. Once a very sick man staggered to reception, late for his appointment because he had been unable to find a space (another problem). He said the day before he had received a parking ticket and if it happened again he wouldn't be returning. A monstrous state of affairs. Our local hospital has sold off its land for housing and a supermarket so parking is always hard to find. Scotland and Wales have free hospital parking, why not England?ViewDate:

Should parents be fined for taking term-time holidays? One of the reasons for fining parents is that holidays taken in term time now count as unauthorised absence (ie truanting ). These figures are published as part of a school's league table performance. Headteachers are no longer able to use their discretion when allowing time off. It is also worth noting that pupils have to be in school a certain number of days each year. Some schools tack training days onto holidays, but rest assured that all pupils in state schools do the same number of days and indeed hours.ViewDate:

Do the current political campaigns affect the way you will vote? One of my grave concerns is the squandering of money on HS2. All the main parties support it (not Greens or UKIP) and at a projected cost of £50 billion ( 2011 prices) it is a vanity project we cannot afford...especially with the enormous black hole in the NHS. Report after report says that there is no business case , yet still the government persists...and Labour intends to continue too. Why?ViewDate:

Fifty shades of greyCouldn't disagree more with some comments. I don't think that grey/white hair is remotely aging as long as it is well cut. In fact far too many people try to replicate the colour of their youth which is far too harsh and ends up adding years to their faces....especially if it is a solid block of colour in an unconvincing chestnut or dark brown. Even some people in the public eye are guilty of this, men and women !
