Are you happy to trust your nose?Sadly for me I have no sense of smell due to a lifetime of sinus problems therefore I rely heavily on dates as with milk there is no visual sign it’s off until you have poured some into a cup or jug then you can see if it is split !!ViewDate:

How likely do you think family gatherings will be this Christmas? We had to make this decision a few years ago due to hubby's ill health he could no longer cope with crowds even though they would be family just 1 or 2 at a time is enough for him so we shall continue on this vein with Christmas Day being just the 2 of us and will if we are able see family at some point over the holiday, we would much prefer everyone to stay safe.......ViewDate:

Daily diaries of those who are self-isolating due to CoronavirusAt the instance of our family we started self - isolation (for age and health reasons not symptoms) last weekend and its going well up to now. I have asthma and my husband had a ruptured AAA a few years ago and then a heart attack 18 months ago and has poor mobility. We are pottering about in our apartment and have even sat out on the patio 2 days its still a bit chilly but lovely to have some sunshine. We are having home deliveries for shopping but that for us is the norm though now there are lots of items unavailable or substitutes for our usuals, we can live with that, we are lucky too that our local butchers will deliver to those in need ie: older or anyone unwell. I knit and thankfully I have a stash of wool so more than enough to keep me going for a while, we both read too so at the moment we are happy enough lets hope by doing this we can stay safe and avoid this awful virus.ViewDate:

Will you be sending Christmas cards this year?Always with ageing relatives who live away receiving mail means so much and at this time of year a card and note is the least we can do the rest I deliver by hand .... we are losing so many traditions Christmas carols are no longer learned in school as they are to be sung only at Christmas itself when school of course are on holiday ....
