Single with 2 cats, daughter has divorced and moved in with me with her cat and 7 sugar gliders. I'm 73 but most people tell me I don't look my age. (hopefully they think I look younger and not older. LOL) I have a twin sister, hence the name One of two.
I live in central Indiana USA.
I am considering moving to Scotland for maybe up to 6 mos. but would like to come over for maybe a month to check out some cities to live. I have joined a couple sites that say "Scottish Penpals" but they are mixed in with England, Ireland and Wales. Would like to visit those areas at some point but for starters I would like to concentrate on Scotland and unless they say they are specifically from Scotland (I do know some of the cities) I have to go to Google and see if they are from England, Ireland, Wales or Scotland.
My daughter has recently divorced and moved in with me so I figure this would be a good time to come to Scotland and check places out as she can watch my house and cats while I'm gone.
So Scots, please help me out here, I don't care if you are a man, a woman, or 20-90 yrs. old. I would just like some info about cities not terribly expensive in your lovely country. For a couple years I've watched A Place To Call Home on TV and they mention Inverness on that. I've been keeping track of temps there and it seems to be very close, if not a tad warmer, to what we have here in central Indiana.
About 4 years ago I took a cruise, I went to the usual tourist cities Edinburgh, Inverness, Ullapool, Isle of Skye, Aberdeen and Oban but was pretty much tied to what the cruise ship offered to see.
I have always loved bagpipe music (although my kids use to limit that to when I was in the car alone) and when I was younger I took 2 years of Highland dancing lessons. I even got 2 or 3 medals. I still have my kilt I wore but unfortunately, after hanging in the closet all these years it has shrunk.
Look forward to being bombarded with info about lovely cities in Scotland.
Thank you for reading.
