Should over 70s be banned from voting on the country's future?Cyber Blue. Sorry my original post should of course have read "......The majority of them KNOW less about Politics........." rather than "no less". Why is there no way to edit your post on this forum Silver Surfers, once you have posted. Get with it, please.ViewDate:

Should over 70s be banned from voting on the country's future?Cyber -blue. When you were 16 years old, what did you know of politics and the world. When I think back to my teen years I knew nothing of the World or even how our own Country was run. I wasn't at that time interested in the slightest in Politics. I wanted a job, having just left school, I wanted to ride my motorcycle every weekend, and I wanted girls galore. When you advocate voting for 16 year olds are you really serious? The majority of them no less about Politics than I and my contemporaries did at 16. These young people now have to remain at school until they are 18 or 19 years old. Do you seriously consider they are mature enough or worldly wise enough to make choices which will have a bearing on our Country for at least 5 years and in some cases even longer?ViewDate:

How do you like the design of the new £1 coin?Does the shape denote the value of todays pound? A thruppney (three penny bit) in pre decimal coinage. If so, it probably does justice to the new coin. Also while I'm writing can anyone explain why Silversurfers only makes old news items available to comment on, for instance this item was first available on the 19th March. Where are the current days issues?ViewDate:

Should Jeremy Clarkson be sacked or reinstated?Jeremy in the words (paraphrased) of someone more famous than I, "For God's sake Go". Go now, whilst you still have the admiration of many and at least in their eyes still retain a modicum of dignity.
