Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months? So we are supposed to keep away from people as much as possible but all the shops we use are closing, except for supermarkets, which are overcrowded because people are trying to find things to eat because of panic buying and profiteering e.g. eBay sellers and Amazon etc. Saw 6 packets of pasta on eBay for £225! What is the Government doing to police this outrageous behaviour by sellers.ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?Went to Sainsbury's this morning and there were families shopping (mum, dad and the children). The parents were letting their children get in people's way and bumping into them as well as not respecting a safe distance, so as not to transfer the Coronavirus if they happened to be infectious. I do doubt that the measures in place are going to work as the panic buying is forcing the active elderly with no one to do their shopping for them into a very unsafe environment. Keeping children off school is just making matters worse as some of the parents obviously can't be bothered to make their children respect the space of other people shopping. Also if both parents are at home, why can't one be at home to look after the children, as let's face it, shopping is a pretty boring activity for them to be dragged along to, and the other parent do the shopping!
