Not in Britain ... other side of the world, Australia.
Had intentions to be in Britain this year(2020) but, sadly of course, that's all off the table for now.
For the moment trying a 'virtual' visit. The site looks terrific! -

Worst car(s) you have drivenOne I will defend ... a Morris(Leyland) Marina (c.1972). Has an 'undeserved', some would say, ghastly reputation :-( . Here (Australia) fitted with in-line 6-cylinder rear-wheel drive, 3-speed floor shift. Sales never got going ... but the Marina worked well for us !!ViewDate:

Worst car(s) you have drivenGoodness ... our first NEW car was a '97 Proton Satria .. two doors, auto 1.6. At that point it was probably the best car we'd had. No rust and a warranty :-) Prior budget-friendly autos, many qualified in the worst car category.ViewDate:

Way, way back (in 2020) 'Yodama' was the most entertaining of contributors to many of Silversurfers's forums. Great sense of humour ...not posting now, no doubt missed ! 'Yodama' opened a music thread and many entries and music links of all kinds followed. Lots of lists, short or long and response and comment followed. Ready to Chat from Australia! - [DELETED_MEMBER]Yes Fea, Brisbane is fine ... as you would know, this time of the year 'beautiful one day, perfect the next'. Days are good. One thing we are stuck with, along with so many others, is the business of not making any advance arrangements. Our son and his wife were scheduled to attend a conference in Melbourne next month. We were going along for the break and to help with the children. Of course that event is now cancelled and we're all backing out of travel and accommodation bookings. Discouraging to attempt these things at the moment. We do have the Carnival of Flowers in Toowoomba soon. That should be safe and it's a delight if you've not had the chance to get there. You mentioned painting ... a recent outing for us. There's an exhibition of 'European Masterpieces' from the New York Met Gallery in the Gallery of Modern Art here in Brisbane. Excellent ... a credit for obtaining these works for display. Aware that similarly Melbourne has a French Impressionist exhibition from Museum of Fine Arts Boston and that was on the 'to do' list had we made it to Melbourne. I'm no art connoisseur but these events are great opportunities. Was there any chance to get along to the NGV. Pleased to see your message has generated responses. You might like to check out 'chat'. Can do a person to person message. That can come in handy. Do hope things clear up in Victoria asap ... I don't like to see our country with barriers.ViewDate:

Ready to Chat from Australia! - [DELETED_MEMBER]Hi there Fea I'm physically closer than many of those contributing to this site. I'm in Brisbane. And further to that, up to the age of 10, many years ago naturally, I lived in Melbourne. Last year we (my wife andI) planned to travel in Britain and Continental Europe but of course that was side-lined. I joined the site as an 'alternate connection' to those places we were then unable to visit. Had not posted for some time, but when I heard the news that Don Everly had passed away I put up a message. I had previously posted on a 'music' thread and that was always a pleasure. Nothing special, but if you click on my username you can see some remaining messages and photos that I've posted. You'll get the idea. If I can assist in any way with finding your feet on the site, let me know. Here in Brisbane for the moment we have been able to keep in regular contact with the children and grandchildren. And for you and I, we can always talk football ... that's a given in Melbourne still I imagine :-) :-ViewDate:

Just a quick "Hello"Hi there ... Just following on from your 'Travelhungry' username. Last year we had plans to travel/visit Britain and Continental Europe ... of course that didn't come to pass, and still, still remains side-lined. Hopefully, not too far into the future, our plans can be re-instated. If you can post about past, present or future travel hopes that might trigger commentary from all over. Very best wishes for your retirement, at home or away !!ViewDate:

Early Retirement-Reentering Workforce-Resumes-Job FairsHi Richard Closed a business, needed to work for a few more years. Age was in an issue from previous working life. Age discrimination defies employment placement. Found state statistics relating to job placement by industry and age group. Good fortune or otherwise, found work in industry best for age group. Lower income of course... but no stress. Work with others thru similar approach ... life-time of experience, zero opportunities. Good luck and best wishesViewDate:
