Proud! What a beautiful poem - I could clearly see the picture you painted - having been to many Remembrance Day parades and knowing exactly how it feels to be present at the Cenotaph to see the Standard lowered and hear the bugle play - very moving. Thank you.ViewDate:

Thunder StormsGreat poem Michael - you painted a picture with your words and I saw it all as it happened - I felt the fear and anxiety your words evoked with the canon boom and the earth shattering flash. Great. It all went away when the storm moved on and left the smell of a brand new day - lovely. Thank you. I love the smell of outdoors after heavy rain or a storm.ViewDate:

All Lives MatterI was discussing this concept with my brother in UK yesterday. I live in Canada and I would like to say that the "Black Lives Matter" campaign has been distorted from its original intent. After the fairly recent murder of George Floyd in USA by a policeman who knelt on Floyd's neck until he died during a simple arrest for a bounced cheque, the "Black Lives Matter" campaign was born. Floyd was one of many black men and women who have been killed unjustly by USA police, and the USA police usually get away with it on some technicality. This has created the feeling that ... well black lives don't matter! Because nothing more was ever done to bring justice for those wrongful deaths. However, in FLoyd's case a video was made of the whole encounter and could not be refuted - this time! I believe it is quite natural and valid for the black community to rise up and campaign to the public that "Black Lives Matter". I hope this explains the slogan in its simple truth. There is absolutely no question or doubt that all lives matter but at that/this particular time it is about saying that black people are not disposable, and that Black Loves Matter. Not more than anyone else - just simply that they do - Black Lives Matter. I hope this explains the root of this campaign - it has nothing whatsoever to do with any group of people being more worthy than any other. I hope you will be able to write a poem that puts this concept correctly for all to read. Thank you. Pauline Perry - SilversurferViewDate:

The Unknown WarriorThank you so much - The Unknown Warrior is such a moving piece. I recently read the story of how the Unknown Warrior came to be - how the fallen soldier was randomly chosen from a group of unknown fallen soldiers left in the battlefields of Europe, unnamed and unattended. This is a tribute to the symbolism of that act and the grave of The Unknown Warrior. What a sensitive and significant gesture to make for all of the fallen and unknown warriors. I am curious to know exactly who had that initial idea - I am so glad that they did. Loved ones from all over the world can come to that Holy grave and mourn their missing warriors fallen in war, but who knows where and who knows when. Thank you again.ViewDate:

Thoughts in my HeadThank you - I really appreciate your writing and poetry - in this poem I agree with so many points you make - the one thing that strongly resonated with me are the lines "Big men rule our world with characters so small No interest in mankind – just profits – that’s all," Which I find is so apt for the leaders of both UK and USA at this time. Thank you again.ViewDate:
